Is it just me, or are the attitudes on Battle.Net getting worse by the day? From hack accusations, to flaming, to actually hacking, B.Net is simply going down the drain.
I have stopped playing alot recently, due to this. I will get on, all pumped at having a few hours of gaming ahead of me, only to join a ladder game and get a flaming disconnector, or get some newbie who cusses me out when I stop his 4 pool. Its just sad.
In the past two days, I have been cursed to play not one, but two games in which I was forced to fight an opponent who, if put up against a BGH comp-stomping newbie, wouldn't win in a tact competition. The first player, who so rudely dared to accuse me of hacking, will not be named, because he is a commoner in NH, and, other than this one incident, I have nothing against him. The second player, however, is simply some fool I met playing a public game. TheSexecutioner, as he was named, started flaming me the second the balance of the game shifted in my favor, screaming out "I WAS BEATEN BY A MONKEY" and "MOTHEFUCKER." (Those will make more sense when I get to them). sigh...
DrAwesome, Starcraft Player, Battle Reporter, Hacker?
I was sitting in NH, asking for a 1on1, when someone piped up accepting my challenge. He made the game on lost temple, and quickly began (both of us randomed).
DrAwesome: 9:00, randomed Protoss
Opponent: 6:00, randomed zerg
This game is not very fresh in my mind, in fact I remember very little of it, but I will try to present it as it happened.
I went with a normal PvZ strategy, as soon as I saw his overlord fly over my base. I went 8 pylon, 12 2 gates, etc etc :P. When I scouted my opponent with a probe, I saw a hatchery morphing at his expansion as well as a finished spawning pool at his main. My first zealot was sent to his natural, as well as my second, which was only a few seconds behind. When my first zealot arrived, he ganged up with my scouting probe to begin work on the hatchery. (most of that time, I had been harassing with my probe, running him around the zerg main.)
As soon as I began work on the hatchery, 8 zerglings poured down from his main and promptly cut my force to shreds. He had, in all honesty, excellent micro. He peeled away my zealot from my probe, and, as soon as it was vulnerable, took down my probe. By the time both my probe and my zealot had been finished off, my second zealot was halfway to his base. I turned it around, set up a little ramp defense in case of a counter rush, and layed down a cybernetics core and a forge.
Not much happened for very long after that; he set some zerglings down at my natural and waited, as I teched to corsairs and templars. I decided that the time was ripe for another charge when my force numbered 8 zealots and 2 dragoons. I slid down my ramp and simply demolished the 10 or so zerglings he had stationed there, and then moved on towards his base. There was another large force of zerglings outside of my natural, but with a little micro, I took them all down with 6 zealots and 1 dragoon remaining.
As I ventured towards his base, I came upon a half-finished expansion at his mineral only. There was a finished hatchery as well as 2 sunkens morphing, with only a small scattering of zerglings and hydras present. I proceeded to rape up the scene pretty bad. The sunkens were policed before they even finished morphing, and the zerglings didn't pose much of a threat. When I started attacking the hatchery, it all went to hell.

 Well, I personally thought this was funny; I have only been accused of hacking a few times before. I took a screen shot and prepared to e-mail it to him if he asked.. I always like proving people wrong.
He began claiming that "you didn't scout." I'm not sure if he remembered my probe or not, but, when I replied with "I scouted with my probe, wtf do you call that," all I got was a "heh" in response. What the hell he was talking about "i didn't scout" I don't know, and I doubt I will. Maybe he meant that I didn't scout before I attacked. Maybe... =\
From here, the battle turned sour for me. He separated my men and took me down with some hydra micro.
Back at my base not much was happening. I had continued to mass units and my first corsair had just finished. I attack-moved the little plane into the center of his main, and on the way there, I ran into a overlord in the little gulley between our bases. What were his feelings about this? Yep you guessed it :D
I could see where he was coming from; I mean, I had corsairs! If that isn't a clear sign of a hack, I don't know WHAT is. :]
Well, at this point, I couldn't decide whether to be pissed or amused. I guess I was a little bit of both, but all in all, I was more annoyed than anything.
From this point on, very little else happened. I attacked his base again and managed to take out his mineral natural, but I was repulsed. A counterattack on my natural finished me off. Damn shame I was toss this game :| I never seem to be able to get toss macro rolling. Anyways, as he was pushing over my 4 gateways, I asked him if he wanted the email.
Opponent: No need, I won
Mmmm, for some reason that pissed me off more than everything else. Maybe it was cause I couldn't prove to him that I didn't hack, maybe it was because he acted like I wasn't worth the trouble to check his email... I don't know why, but oh well.
After that game was over, I returned to NH and said nothing to the hack accuser. After seeing no one on that I wanted to play with, disgusted at B.Net, I logged off.
I won't say this guy wasn't good; I mean, I was definitly outplayed, but, when it came to manner, there was a clear winner :\. The reason I didn't give any names out, is because, to me, a hack accusation can be a simple mistake or lapse of judgement. All I can ask for is an apology.
DrAwesome, Starcraft Player, Battle Reporter, Monkey?
I have been trying to play ladder recently. Some of you may remember my two ladder names: TurboPlastic and ArgError. Neither of them got very good, and I never really felt like myself with them, so I switched back to DrAwesome. With a ladder rating of 973, I didn't think I would find many ladder opponents willing to play me, so I simply joined a melee game. It was a call out for a 1v1 on the map Binary Burghs. I joined and my opponent, TheSexecutioner, and I both chose random as the game got underway.

This game started out promising to be a very fun game. A small map like this just promises to be bloody :D.
I started out with a 12-pool, 14-expansion, which, ironically, is the exact build my opponent in the previous game used =o.
I expanded to point 3 on the map, which is the closest expansion by my main. When my overlord reached his base, I saw a small faction of 4 zealots moving out towards me as well as a cybernetics core in progress. The overlord backed off, while, back at home, I started another expansion at resource node 4 and ordered up some more lings.
His forces arrived at my woefully under prepared main and quickly took down 2 of my 6 lings. 2 creep colonies were started as my lings attacked and danced around his men. When he got wise and targetted the morphing colonies, I pulled every last worked off of mining to defend and attack. The newly produced lings, a sunken colony, and the combined attacks of all of my drones managed to finally defeat his small attack force.
My first expansion was up and running after I maynarded some drones there. I started getting gas and continued to power, ignoring defense, until my second expansion came online.
The first two drones I produced there were instruced to morph to sunkens, seeing as how it was the only way to get from his base to my main. I morphed a hydra den at around this point, and, after repelling a small attack on my 2 sunken expansion, I started another hatchery there.
My opponent was not nearly defeated yet, oh no. An overlord stationed over resource node 5 noticed that he was building a nexus and 2 cannons overlooking MY expansion. A cannon turbo newbie... great. Well, I took my groups of hydras and attacked the cannons on the edge of the cliff, but, even after I researched range, I couldn't reach a few that could reach my hydras. I gave up on attempting to kill the cannons, and instead just decided to move back. Back at my main, I built an evolution chamber and started on a lair upgrade. Thats when a shuttle flew out of the fog of war and into my peon line. urgggggg.
Selecting half of my hydras, I attack moved them towards the top right and quickly looked back to try to evacuate what I could. About half my probes escaped when he reloaded up the deadly cargo of 2 reavers into the shuttle and flew it south. I noticed that not a single hydra had shown up yet, however, and, after looking back south, I almost broke my computer in frustration. My dozen hydras had been reduced to about 5 by that point, as they milled around the edge of the cliff, getting shot by cannons, not smart enough to realize to move on. I selected them all and moved them towards my expansion at node 3, where the two reavers had just unloaded. Once again, I lost almost half of my drones to scarab fire, and by the time my hydras reached the expansion, the reavers had flown south once again. a;sldfas;elfk
A small group of hydras finally dispatched the renegade reavers, but only after loosing more than 90% of all of my army of hydras. You see, he had positioned them behind the minerals, making it so that only 2 or 3 hydras could shoot at once.
I proceeded to rebuild my economy as well as upgrade my hydralisks. A few minutes after the reaver drop, a DT drop in my second expansion took out most of my drones, but did little damage in the end. Seeing this basically told me that he had already teched to two branches on his tech tree. I was gonna have to take down that expansion, one way or another.
With a hydra drop in mind, I started getting the overlord upgrades (speed first, to combat those DTs). A third hatchery was laid down at resource node 4 and I stepped up my hydra production. As my numbers continued to rise, I realized that I should at least do something with my hydras, so I began an attack on TheSexecutioner's main (point A). About two dozen hydras and 1 dozen lings charged and did less damage than one would have thought possible. Four psi storms cut me up while 2 reavers and a dozen goons shot at me from far inside his base. It was an absolute massacure. Luckily, however, I was zerg, and, with a 4th hatch, I had produced another reasonably sized army already.
As my overlord upgrades finished, I took 5 overlords full of hydralisks and curled around TheSexecutioner's center island expansion and unloaded at C. The three cannons on the island provided minimal protection for his base and, despite 2 storms over my men, I ran it over in the end.
While my 8 remaining hydras worked on the nexus and gateway up there, I got a warning message: I was under attack. 15 or so goons and 3 or so high templar were blasting the hell out of my expansion at node 4. I only had about equal numbers of hydras there to his goons, but they were getting jewed beyond their wildest nightmares. Still, I managed to make a dent, and, after I loaded up my men on the cliff above the battle and dropped them behind him, his army finally cracked. I left 2 hydras patrolling on the cliff to watch for any future expansion attempts.

There was a lull in action as each of us built up. A few expansion attempts of mine were shut down by observer/reaver drop combos. He continued to pump men, even though he must have been out of minerals at his main. A scouting overlord finally found what I had missed. An expansion right below one of mine. At resource node 6, my protoss opponent had set up a small defense of 3 cannons, 2 high templar, and 1 reaver.
 I loaded up 4 overlords full of hydralisks - about half of my force - and curved around his base, once again attempting to get a secret drop off. I landed without a hitch, but, at that point, I didn't know that there was a reaver on the plateau, and somehow managed to lose all of my forces while only killing 1 reaver and 1 cannon. The overlords were sent back and I loaded up 2 more. The second drop didn't do much better - I lost 7 of the 8 hydras to 1 psi storm asdf. The third and final drop, consisting of 16 hydras, succeeded in taking down his remaining defenses.
When action finally ended, I transported 16 drones up to the plateau too and started another expansion where his once stood.
No time like the present, right? I charged his main with my 36 or so hydralisks, and, as expected, I ran him over. He had obviously stopped attempting to seriously win, and had created a small army of 10 - 12 High templar :D. I lost 12 hydras to maybe 4 or 5 storms, but it wasn't enough. This was where it turned bad.
When he called me a monkey, I missed a screen shot. Between the ";[" and "A MONKEY JUST WON," he said

Yeah seriously, its not like I won with any actual skill on my part.
I wrote this BR in a single day so don't worry corb I'm working on it =]. After that game, I once again logged off, disgusted with B.Net. I mean, it was like I was playing a BGH compstomp. But, then again, this guy was really good - he sure didn't go down easily, and I'm not denying that there is an imbalance there. I can't say I have been around all that long, so, I don't know if it was always like this or if SC's glory days are just passed. Whatever; thank god for the nice, understanding, completely unparanoid people in ~NH... waitaminue.....
