Lifetime Rating for Nuts2U: 5.0000 |  | Two of my friends recently purchased BW(names : Zwak and TheKernal), so after coaching them for like 2 weeks, they wanted to get a game on 2 v 1 against me. We all choose Terran and I end up in the W corner, with my two opponents in the E(TheKernal) and N(Zwak) corners. I figured that I would have to get to tanks ASAP since time would be against me. After making 2 bunkers at the choke, I placed 3 marines in each, they tried to storm in with about 10 marines total, which were promptly shredded. I am already thinking "Great, they will be heading for tanks next", so I get 2 factories up ASAP, and start pumping out tanks. I scan the other empty area and find they mined it fairly well. I get about 4 tanks made and siege them, to protect the choke. Right after this, I scan the middle to find that they have already massed tanks and sieged them. Since it was evident that I would lose if I tried to go toe to toe with them, I figure "ah what the heck...lets try a drop". I pick the opponent in the ne corner and load up a dropship of 10 marines, 2 medics. As I start going over the empty area on the E corner, I see one of them is trying to build a CC near the mineral patch closest to the choke. I scan the area and find some mines near, so as I pass by, I click on a marine in the wire frame and drop him near the mine...boom! No more marine, but no more SCV either. The building being half finished, just sits there for the moment.
I drop the rest in the far corner of Zwak, and as luck would have it, he had everything in the middle, preparing for storming my base. I stimmed and went to town on his SCV's. By the time TheKernal brought over his cloaked wraiths to kill me, I killed off most of the SCV's, 2 depots, and 4 marines. So now I am thinking "I'm dead...I have no air"...so I do the only thing that is possible...make a nuke silo on my existing CC. While I am moving my cc to do this, I start making turrets everywhere, as I am anticipating a similar drop on my area. Right about now, they start to pummel my bunkers that I have at the choke. I send a marine to the center, and my tanks get some free hits on 4 tanks trying to get in. (My poor marine gets toasted of course). I am frantically repairing the bunkers.while I am making ghosts ASAP. Finally I hear " Nuclear Missle Ready and I am elated. They back up temporarily, but I am being harrased with hit and runs by the wraiths on my bunkers. My turrets are on what seem like double overtime, and the marines that still remain in there are firing non stop. I finally sneak a ghost into the center and I find like 10 tanks (all sieged) and about 15 - 20 wraiths. I remembered reading from somewhere placing the dot 1 spot from your ghost, and that is what I did. I see massive scans going on everywhere but where the dot was!!! Wraiths are flying in circles trying to find my ghost, and finally the tanks start to unsiege when the bomb drops!! Wahoo!! Everything dead. I shout out "That had to hurt",and I bring out everything I had to Zwaks base and killed him off easily, since he was still hurting from the previous attack.
By the time I got to TheKernals base, he had a few marines in the one bunker he had up, but those were dispatched quickly by my tanks. I later found out that he was planning a drop of his own but I killed off his diversionary force before he could do it. GG's were exchanged and I felt like I was on top of the world!
Lessons Learned -
Mine everywhere - they stopped any attempts for me to expand, but if they had mined the center, I would have lost all of my forces when I went to Zwaks base. At the very least, I would have lost the ghost that I used to nuke them with
Scan frequently - Knowing what is coming is half the battle
