Welcome to my second Battlereport. My first report was an all text piece of
crap, but this time I have a visual feast for you. Well, maybe not a feast.
Probably closer to what you see in the toilet after you eat at Taco Bell.
Oh well here goes......
My friend halby and I had been playing for an hour or two one night, when I got the
bright idea that a battlereport should be done.
So, halby
hosted a 2v2 game on bgh (thats enough out of you). After waiting for like 30
seconds, two people joined and we were off.
Heres a little game start info:
Map - Big Game Hunters (yes I know you all hate it, but its just a map, and as
long as all parties involved have fun, whats the problem?)
skimoose - random brown terran, 11 o'clock position.
halby - random orange terran, 7 o'clock position.
vs. |
Chicken_AdobO - random teal zerg, 12 o'clock position.
ecestud - random blue terran, 3 o'clock position.
If you have trouble visualizing, this should help you:
After some peon cloning, we were off. halby had been
on a metal kick as of late, and he informed me that this was what he was doing.
I decided to go hard infantry. At eight supply, I started a depot at my choke,
and at ten supply started a barracks next to it.
At twelve, I started another barracks not far from my
choke, and at fourteen another depot to complete the semi-wallin.
At around sixteen,
a refinery was started (for bats and medics) and then an academy. I built an
ebay for upgrade and detection purposes. When my academy completed, I added a comstat and researched the marine range upgrade.
When I had about three marines, my partner informed
me that an overlord did a little fly-by from the 12 o'clock direction, I sent
three marines to deal with the flying bag of puss and, as you can see, they did
fairly well at destroying it.
Back at my choke, I had about 5-6 marines and two
medics on the way. ecestud attacked my overlord
assassins, with only one of my marines
just barely surviving (4 hp). Then, Chicken_AdobO
sent over a group of lings to cause some
havoc. I started a bunker with a spare scv while my marines attacked the lings from behind the depot.
Just as my first two medics popped out, my depot exploded. After what seemed like an eternity, my bunker completed, and four marines gladly hopped inside. By now his lings were severely less in number, so my M & M, backed up by a fully loaded bunker, mopped them up. I started two more depots
back behind my command center. Then I started to scout for
Chicken_AdobO .
Ok. I had lost a depot and a few marines. Time for revenge. But first I needed to
find teal. I sent marines to the 9 o'clock and 1 o'clock positions, all the while
pumping marines/medics/firebats. I also researched stim. My marines found
nothing, and I was stumped. halby had scouted
counter-clockwise from his main until he found ecestud
and at this point was preparing to seige him (see the orange mass on the minimap at blues choke?).
Every positon had been visited.....
except 12 o'clock. A quick hotkey to my comstat and sure enough there he was,
massing lings out of 3 hatcheries with no sunkens in sight.
I felt pretty stupid for not scouting there first, but the overlord came so late
and I saw no creep when I went to kill it. When I am zerg at 12 o'clock, I always scout to the left, because they are the closest two positions on the map and the top left is very susceptible to a rush. Oh well, I blame coors light.
Anyways, I took
my sizeable infantry force of 7 marines, 4 firebats, and 5 medics and decided to ruin his night. As, I reached his choke, I stimmed my bats and charged in.
Chicken_AdobO decided this was a good time to charge
all his lings (16+)at me. About half-way though the skirmish, I stimmmed my
marines. The outcome.....well see for yourself.
As you can see, I slaughtered all his lings, with ZERO losses. And all this time I was sure lings owned bats. Hmmm. Oh well. I proceeded into his main, and finding very little resistance, I started razing his base. After about 20 seconds of razing I saw:
Ah man, no more fun for me.
I can't figure out why he left. I mean, I saw what he was making, and everyone knows that the infamous blue zergling owns all!
As my battle with Chicken_AdobO
was taking place, halby's seige of
ecestud was going pretty well. I didn't see the whole
battle (the whole me coordinating my OWN attack thing) but I did manage to snag a few pics.
halby filled me in on his skirmish after the game and told me that at the battle for ecestud's choke (top pic) a single mine took out 8-10 marines. Vultures are probably the most underestimated factory unit in the game, and they totally own.
As I was preparing to send my troops to 3 o'clock, a special little message
popped up:
GG.....and the winners are:
halby and skimoose
Time of battle:
The only scores that are of any consequence are the unit scores:
I would have to say that these scores speak for themselves. I do feel kinda bad for teal though....producing 72 units and only getting one kill.
So much for my second battlereport. I hope you enjoyed it! And I know I will be getting flamed for playing on BGH, but oh well. I just enjoy playing Starcraft with my friends, and thats all that counts right??
