Wow, I haven't reported in awhile. It started with a computer crash, which led to other interests (Counter-Strike, mmm.) and that led to the Diablo II beta which got boring, so that led me back to playing Counter-Strike again. Phew that was a mouthful. In case you've been living under several rocks, Counter-Strike is a mod for the First Person Shooter Half-Life created by Gooseman. CS pits the Counter Terrorists (CTs) against the Terrorists (Ts). The game isn't mindless Cops and Robbers killing however. Instead either side must complete certain missions(these missions usually are ignored and mindless killing ensues anyway though). Some examples of the missions are Planting/Defusing a bomb, Guarding/Rescuing hostages, Assassinating/Escorting the VIP and then some "Terrorists have to escape thing" which no one plays.

Anyway, I decided to join the ICW server. This server used to be good, but now its all newbified(I'm one of these newbies mind you). A good choice if you want to look good in a battle report! ..Unfortunately the |GEN| server was down, so some good players were in the game ready to kick my newbie ass.

Let the games begin!

After joining the server I saw the map was Prodigy. Prodigy is a bomb map with 2 Bomb Targets. I once went 12-0 before dying on this map as CT, so that's what i chose to be. ^^;

ROUND 1

When the round started, I was low on money because I just joined in. I didn't have many options of guns to buy, so I stuck to the basics.

I decide to go towards the Canyon and delay rushing T's. Hopefully CT's that went towards the garage would be able to flank the T's by the canyon. {69}Thrall made the same choice as me and we advanced into the tunnel finding boxes for cover. No T's came so we make our way into the canyon itself. {69}Thrall went first and I saw him crouch and shoot with his Colt M4A1 towards the T spawn area. As he was covering me, I made my way up the canyon..and flew backwards from a headshot by an AK47. The sad part is Thrall died right after so I don't even think the Terrorist was aiming at me. Bah!

The T's planted the bomb and won the round.

ROUND 2

This round I had even less money.

My strategy for this round was pick up a good gun from a dead guy. Once again I went towards the canyon with Thrall. Thrall told his fellow clanmate, Toothpicky, that he was "AWPing" and needs cover. The AWM or AWP sniper rifle is very expensive and very heavy. However if its bullet hits an enemy's upper body, it's an instant kill. Hitting the upper body isn't too hard with 2 Zoom Modes either. The only problem is, the area you can see is very small so it's easy to be killed from the side and not see it coming(hence the cover).

While Thrall was scarring away T's with his noisy AWP, I made my way up the canyon and into the garage area. Two CT's in front of me got shot down and I saw a Colt M4A1 sticking out of the doorway. ..Fucking camper. While he was reloading, I emptied 6 bullets into his chest and stole his gun for good measure. I mentioned the Colt in the first round. It's my personal favorite and only CT's can buy it(our unlucky T friend must have stolen it from a dead CT). The Colt has a detachable silencer which is great for surprise attacks. I left the silencer on and reloaded both the Colt and my Desert Eagle.

As I made my way into the CT spawn I got the 'Bomb has been planted!' message. The more I neared the spawn I could hear the beep of the bomb. Moving in I saw a lone T by the plant area(thanks to the wonderful people at Valve, the demo shows the Terrorist as a CT, doh!). Going full auto(holding down the trigger/mouse), I strafed to my right and then finish off Hitman with my Desert Eagle. Counter-Terrorists covered me as I defused the bomb and we won the round. Hurrah for money!!

ROUND 3

Hmm. I already had a Primary and a secondary gun, so I had a lot of money left over after I was done buying.

It was time for a change, so I made my way to right outside of the garage area. Here I just sat around waiting for T's to come so I could mow them down. My fellow CT's got bored and went ahead, I followed. We ran into a T hiding behind a soda machine. I went full auto on his ass and got the kill. w00t! As we came towards the T spawn, we played who could kill the AFK Terrorist first. I lost that game, nooo! Anyways, I proceeded to go to the canyon but before I could, I saw a dark figure by some boxes. Well that figure turned out to be a Terrorist and he got a 6 bullets to his chest from me. We won again!

ROUND 4

Mmmm money. This round Toothpicky and Thrall switched to the Terrorist team because the teams weren't fair.

I once again went by the garage area. With my eyes on the hole in the wall, I saw a Terrorist head strafe by. My shots mostly missed so I ran behind a wall to reload. Making my way back to the doorway, I saw the Terrorist again..only sideways as I died to a headshot. Dammit!

{69}Thrall was AWPing by the Terrorist spawn and the Canyon and our last two CT's thought it was a good idea to charge him, rather then go around and flank him. They got shot down and the T's won the round.

ROUND 5

Thank god for my left over money..

I held the canyon area with other CT's, then went around through the garage area. Not much to say about this round other then ownage. The Terrorists planted at our spawn and I met up with another CT who was running away while reloading. I threw in a Flashbang and he killed the remaining T. That was the only Terrorist I ran into that round. Anyways, I defused and we won the round.

ROUND 6

I basically just restocked my equipment.

Several CT's and I went by the garage and stopped assaults from there. We slowly went through the Terrorist spawn and as we got to the canyon I got shot down by Thrall in the $%^& back. He died shortly after and the CT's that killed him made their way into our spawn. They ran into RagnaRok who owned them with his Commando, a Terrorist only gun with 1 zoom feature. As RagnaRok was reloading, he was shot down by the last CT and we won the round. *yawn*

ROUND 7

Not much to say. I bought the best stuff I could.

Dammit my team kept owning the Terrorists before I could. Well whatever, once again several CT's held the canyon while other CT's and I went to the garage area. Nothing came so we went to flank the Terrorists. In the canyon area we ran into 2 T's. I took out Hitman who was behind some cover. The second Terrorist took me down to 3 health until I started jumping like mad and my other CT friend killed him. I let him lead because of my low health. As he went into the tunnel by the CT spawn I caught a glipse of a Terrorist killing my CT partner who had just saved me. I switched to my HE Gernade and let it fly off of a wall where it bounced and blew the remaining Terrorist to hell. CT's win.

ROUND 8

Because I didn't die, I once again didn't have to buy a lot.

Since the strategy had been working, I went to the garage area again with some other CTs. We proceeded into the Terrorist spawn where I lost the kill the AFK game again, dammit I suck at this game! However I heard some footsteps so I ran to some nearby boxes and waited. Good old Hitman wearing his CT outfit in the demo walked by. Now even though he looked like one of us, I had to kill him. Feeling confident I walked into the CT spawn where the bomb had just been planted. There I felt the wrath of RagnaRok. I was avenged by |RAVE|Wagon, and with all the Terrorists dead, he went to defuse the bomb. As he was defusing the map timed out..but the new map didn't load up and poor Wagon got blown up by the bomb because his diffusing was haulted by the scores screen. The T's got lucky and won the last round.

Closing

And with that, I end my Counter-Strike BR. Sorry it was so short and not very exciting. I'm thinking about writing a longer one so I need your imput on how to improve. I hope this was a decent br, I haven't written one of these in awhile so give me some slack if it sucks more then usual. Thanks for reading!
