The map : Lost Temple
The match-up: Protoss vs Protoss
The first thing that comes to your mind is: Boring. The Map is overplayed. Boring. Mass goons 'till supply limit, then meet at the temple and battle it out.

Gotta tell you something: "You are wrong!"

Welcome to my newest Battlereport. My first StarCraft Battlereport, too. In this prologue I want to apologize for the minor quality of my pictures. I didnt do this BR from a replay, but from a movie on broodwar.com.

And now for todays game, I proudly welcome you to:

CHRH vs. Grrrr...

I hate people going random T.TI <3 manner toss, no dt's, no carriers

That's right, I bring you the best of the best: The #1 Protoss Player of the World duking it out against the #1 Random Whore of the World. It's the the first game in their best of five series and it was the best of all them games.

Chrh goes with the opening of pylon, gate, gate, pylon, while massing probes and the immediately starts pumping out his first zealots. He seems not to be willing to scout, to not loose the advantage of letting his opponent wonder what race he got.

Grrrr... goes pylon, gate, assimilator, core. He obviously is going to tech hard. Although he is at the 3 o'clock position, he leaves out 12, but scouts 9 first, before finding his opponent at 6.

Its the same people u see going up... vs. ... its the same people u see going down... its the same people u see going down

After Grrrr... found Chrh at 6, Chrh decides it's time for him to scout and sends his probe counterclockwise to the 3 position, finding Grrrr... at the first try. Seeing Grrrr... is teching, Chrh sends out his first 3 zealots, to cause some trouble. The zealots meet up with 2 goons at Grrrr...'s Choke and charge in. Grrrr... starts to dance his goons like a mad man and with reinforcements coming from both sides its 4 zealots vs 5 goons, which Grrrr... can decide to his favor with no losses.

Now its Grrrr...'s time to attack and he walks the victorious 5 goons over to Chrh's mins only. In the mean time Chrh himself has started a cybernetics core. Grrrr... kills another reinforcement zealot at Chrh's mins only. He sets up a robotics facility at home, while charging into Chrh's natural. Chrh has 6 fresh zealots up his ramp against Grrrr...'s 5 heavily damaged goons. He pulls them back into his main to be able to attack as many goons as possible. Knowing that Grrrr...'s goon micro is inhuman, though, he takes an amount of probes to the attack, to block of the dancing ways. Also just in this moment 2 goons pop out of Chrh's Warpgates and the attack ends with Grrrr... sacrificing 2 of the more damaged goons to let the other 2 pull back to their homebase.

Grrrr... has a Robotics Supportbay by now and we know we are up for some Reaver-Action. While Grrrr... is preparing for his drop, Chrh rallies some mixed troops of zealots and dragoons at his mins only.

Chrh himself puts up a robotics facility and an observatory as soon as the fac finishes. He know Grrrr...'s playing style and wants to be prepared for drops. He also gets his force back to just below his choke to be gain a certain mobility should the drop come. Grrrr... has put up an observatory to scout for excellent drop places and expansions. His army count is about 5 goons at his choke, while Chrh has about 5 goons and 7 zealots. Grrrr... also brings a probe to his natural in order to expand there as soon as possible.

A shuttle with shuttle speed starts moving towards Chrh's natural, who has the most of his goons at his nexus. Obviously Grrrr... wants to fly in from the right and Chrh's goons are positioned on the left side of his nexus. Grrrr... drops his 2 reaver cargo just in the middle of Chrh's probes. Chrh runs his probes, but not before he looses a huge count of them. He then focuses fire on one reaver and kills it. In a gosu display of shuttle micro, Grrrr... manages to pick up the 2nd reaver and drop just beside the rest of the probes before fleeing with his shuttle. The remaining reaver is killed by the goons, but Chrh has sure lost many probes.

2:2 huk^huk, me > u2:2 huk^huk, me > u2:2 huk^huk, me > u

Chrh knows if he doesnt go on the offensive now, Grrrr... will mass expand and outresource him, so he moves his entire army to the entrance of his opponents natural. Grrrr... has scoutet his opponents drop-tech through his own drop and is know preparing for it by splitting his army, one half at the choke, the other at his nexus. Chrh orders his troops back to his main and loads up a reaver and 2 zealots. He already has an observer at Grrrr...'s main, seeing 1 cannon at the choke and another warping in. He gets his shuttle there and drops the zealots first to draw fire from the cannon, then unloads his reaver just in front of it. But somehow Grrrr... manages to repulse this attack, only loosing 2 or 3 probes. After watching the movie again I think the only shot that the reaver got loose, before Chrh loaded it back in to flee, went for the cannon. Meanwhile Grrrr... expands to his natural.

Grrrr... now moves out with about 10 goons. They encounter Chrh's troops at the middle. Chrh's superior troop (~4 Zealots, ~12 goons) count makes Grrrr... retreat to his natural where he decides to use the advantage of the high ground to repulse the attack. Now Chrh expands to his natural as well.

these versus screens look like Street Fighter 2 to me. vs. I dig Street Fighter 2 ;)

Grrrr... places 2 of his goons on the high ground, who are joined by the next two reinforcement goons. The rest is placed at his natural Chrh also reinfroces his army with 2 reavers. As the reavers move in, Grrrr... concentrates fire on them, killing both, while loosing 3 goons. The high ground advantage and the help of his probes helps him repel the attack so Grrrr... natural is still up and running as Chrh's goons are forced to retreat. A funny moment occurs as 2 protoss shuttles of different colors pass each other on the way to their cliffs. Chrh unloads 2 goons on Grrrr...'s cliff and start harrasing the mining drones. Grrrr... unloads a probe on Chrh's cliff, which builds a pylon to do some cliff cannoning. Chrh's goons are taken care of by 2 reavers that are place on the cliff, while Grrrr... starts warping in 3 cannons on his opponents choke. The cannons come online and start shooting the probes at Chrh's natural. Grrrr... also shuttles 2 reavers on his opponents cliff to deal with anything that should come up there to stop the cannons from working. Chrh quickly expands to his mins only and rallies his troops to the entrance of his opponents natural.

Grrrr... decides to attack directly now and he manages to beat back Chrh's forces with the help of the 2 reavers he shuttled from Chrh's cliff. He then proceeds towards Chrh's mins only and with reaver support is able to raze the expansion there. With his only expansion gone, Chrh concedes the game with the obligatory "gg".
