Naturally, he challenges me.
mwahaha
Needless to say, I spank him down 2 games straight, but he said that he thought anothe friend of his could beat me.
"mwahaha" say i "yeah right i could beat both of you!"
and of course he takes my words to heart. So, me and Riff argued about map selection on ICQ, and decided on Dire Straights. He wanted an island so that they wouldn't get rushed under...
So be it, on with the game!
Team S-P-A-N-K-E-D
(ET)Finkster: Teal, Terran(chosen), Top Left
Riff: Yellow, Terran(chosen), Top Right
Team WOMBAT
Fractal_Wave(me!): Green, Zerg(chosen), Bottom Right
I usually random, but I've been workin really well with the zerg the last few days, and Riff wanted me to choose a race.
(for the record, riff is the newbie)
We start, I send my drones off a-harvesting, and begin pumping more drones. I don't scout as I know that both my victims are Terran, and will have early overlord killing marines. Beside, there's only going to be one empty starting spot, so I feel farily safe.
I get up to 10/9 supply, build a 2nd hatch, an extractor, and a spawning pool (not all at once, but close).
Then it's drone, OL, drone and then a hydra den ASAP.
I decide to hydra drop Riff, and remove his minor annoyence, and then deal with Finkster, who i know nothing about.
I double Lair (puming hydras and drones all the while)
, and get annoyed at how slooow gas is coming in. I take an OL, throw 2 drones inside, and fly him up to the enter-right xpansion. Then, finally, everythings ready. I've got 12 hydras with both speed and range just itchin' to kill something, 3 OLs with both speed and transporting.
I load up, and send them up to the top-left starting location.
As my OLs decellerate near the island, they run in to trouble. missile turrets. It would appear that I've found Riff, who's decide to turret himself in. o_O
I drop the hydras, but lose one half-full over lord.
The slavering zerg hordes begin destroying the offending missile turrets. A squad of 4 wraith fly up, but are quicky dispatched by the zerg war machine. As the rampage continues, a goliath from the local factory is taken down, as are 2 wraith from Finkster. In the end, after destroying the entire base, i have 1 hydra left. I also saw Riff's CC flying off towards Top-right. AHA. Finkster has been found.
I ready another drop, hoping to catch Finkster off-guard as well. By this time, my expansion is up and running, and I throw down a spire for air support
(REMEMBER this is Original Gangsta S.C., not BW, so Muties own the air;)
12 new hydras land outside finksters base, and proceed in and are ripped to shreds by 2 tanks, 2 bunkers and 3 goliaths. The bunks and tanks are nicely walled-in, so I give up on the ground assault. for now.
To make a bad strike even worse, 3 wraiths catch up with my reatreating overlords and pop 2 of them!
This spells doooom for the foolsih terrans ;)
Now the mutie pumping begins in earnest. soon 12 muties are patrollin the skies in search of expansions...I send the mutie squad in to test defenses, and I find to my disgust that Riff has landed his CC on Finksters island and is turreting it in as well! my muties rip through 3 turrets before falling, and I feel resolved to tech up to guardians. But first a little harrasment is in order.
Guessing that Finksters mineral line is uncovered, I take 12 hydras and 12 mutes behind his base, and wreck havoc with the mineral line, killing about 16 SCVs before falling to goliaths, turrets (DAMN turrets), tanks and bunkers.
I throw down a 2 hatch @ my expansion, and expend a 3rd time to Riff's original starting spot.
I send a wing of muties hunting, and they find a teal xpansion just coming on line, with no defense at all. ;)
mwahaha
I then jump to Hive, and grab a greater spire.
I'm running out of gas right about now, as my main geyser is depleted, and my 3rd xpansin hasn't come online yet. I switch over to hydra production for a sec before goin' back to muties.
"MUTATION COMPLETE"
funky. the greater spire is done. phear ;)
by now i've got 20 hydras, and around 30-some muties.
I evolve 3 guardians, and fly them up to the "turret wall"
My faithful servets begin blasting holes in the Terran defense line.
At the same time, I take my 20 hydras, load 'em up and prepare to drop them on the other side of Finksters base.
Panicing now, the terran air force come out to kill the guardians. Unaware of the mutie swarm that awaits them, 5 wraiths come along, and are blown to smithereens. Following them are 3 BattleCrusiers, but they are no match for the swarm.
I drop my hydras from behind, and 20 spine-fireing bad@sses attack the terran base from the rear.
"finkster has left the game"
w00p
"riff has left the game"
doulbe w00p
LESSONS:
1) Economy, for the love of GOD. When I looked at the resource screen, I had beaten BOTH of them in resources.
2) scouting! I almost always had a half-wing of muties crusing over the xpansion spots. And, strangly enough, neither of them used (to the best of my knowledge ), God's gift to terrans, comsat. Most of the time my bases were undefended, and a few wraiths would have worked wonders.
1b) once you've got the cash SPEND IT! Finkster only had 1 starport. I had 5 hatches. you do the math.
3) try playing 2 v 1. it's fun. improves multi-tasking
lates,
