Lifetime Rating for Pebbler: 6.0000 |  | Before I start, just to tell you that this is my first battle report I'm gonna ever write.
Game Info:
Map: (6)Thin Ice
Players: Pebbler (Me) - Terran - Middle left
Ryan-Defense - Protoss - bottom right
Templar_High - Protoss - top right
It all began when I joined in a public game named "2 on 2 war" with the map thin ice (I love that map) I immediately joined and after waiting 5 minutes there was only 3 people. The host suggested ffa. We began the game and I randomed the earthlings, terran.
My SCVS quickly began harvesting the essential minerals. On my 8th SCV I lay down a supply depot fairly close to my command center, and then a barracks on 10. I was gonna make a typical terran wall in. I put up another barracks at 12 and sent that scv scouting after it was completed. As my SCV quickly raced from one start point to the other, it found Ryan-Defense (from this point on, green) in the bottom right who has blanketed his choke with cannons. I soon sent another SCV going along the top of the map and found Templar_High (now referred to as blue) who also cannoned himself in.
Meanwhile at my main base I threw up more supply depots and built more SCVs and marines. After my economy got rolling I slapped down an engineering bay, factory, then academy, in preparation for dts (cannoning in usually means tech). I built another factory and began getting siege tanks from the first.
This is when I got suspicious. Blue was saying things like "ok" and "yes". I was wondering what the hell is he saying? I then knew that it was 2v1 because green was probly talking ally to him and he wasn't.
Now I was pissed. My siege tanks rolled out in 2's and I stuck up a bunker, tank and turret by my choke. I then caught a glimpse of a probe and 3 zealots a little outside my choke. I comsatted there and sure enough, green was gonna offensive cannon me in while taking the expansion. I quickly put up a bunker just out of sight and tank pushed through the barracade and expanded there with 2 tanks, 8 marines, and 2 medics.
Blue hasn't been doing anything lately, so I comsat his base and I find about 3 carriers massing up beside 3 stargates. I quickly grab another expansion and throw down 2 starports and a science facility after. I kept pumping wraiths out of my starports and a few goliaths. I added a covert ops to my sci facility and began researching lockdown while building ghosts.
Sure enough, green attacked my expansion with dts, but my 1 tank and bunker held out. Almost simultaneously, my other expansion was attacked with about 7 carriers. I'm thinking "o shit!" There was nothing I could do to save that expansion.
Soon, the carriers came flying into my main. I managed to lockdown 3 carriers and my cloaked wraiths finished off. I was lucky he had no observer. I then took another expansion near the side where no one would notice it, and threw down another staport. At this point in the game I was upgrading through 1 engineering bay, and 1 armory.
This is the part where I went wild. I kept pumping out wraiths and science vessels and expanded another 3 times without being attacked. With the cash rolling in, I wasn't scared at all. 5 starports pumping out air units. I comsat green again and his main looks pretty empty (turns out he expanded once in the whole game and I killed it). I comsat blue shortly after and find 24 carriers heading to my expansion.
The carriers arrive at approximately the same time my 24 wraiths arrive. With the help of emp and marines and lockdown, I fended off the attack with 12 wraiths and 1 marine standing. I quickly countered by destroying 1 of blues expansions using the leftover wraiths. I then began another science facility so I could make battlecruisers. While building, I was adding more and more wraiths to my arsenal.
Finally, I pumped out 5 battlecruisers and my supply was at 200/200. I knew they were teaming up vs. me so I oculdn't waste whole fleet on 1 guy or the other could counter. So I sent 5 bcs and 3 sci vessels to green and wiped out everything with minimal losses. Blue tried to save him with corsairs and carriers but yamato prevailed. This also confirmed my suspicion of the alliance. I then proceeded to blue with everything.
As I was mounting my forces up at the side of blues base blue attacked my main with 3 carriers, which only destroyed a supply depot cuz my 2 goliaths and 2 ghosts arrived, locking down the bcs then attacking with goliaths. After the assault probes came attacking my expansion, which 2 wraiths, 1 tank, and 2 marines held off. This told me blue was out of cash.
My fleet went in and demolished everything. Yamato took care of the cannons and I wiped out everything. During the assault, he kept begging me to ally with him, but I denied it because they allied vs. me and I still won. In addition to that 2 protoss vs 1 terran, isn't that imbalanced? I soon elminated both players at the same time because green had a pylon in blues base. As they died, they conceded with a "gg"
-Lessons learned:
-Carriers don't rock if the proper counters are used
-Good Terran players can rock protoss average players
-Don't cannon push terran if they have tanks, even if you
do have zealots with it.
-Lockdown rules
-I still don't rule
-Don't be afraid to expand, I won because I out-expanded
them. I had 12000/10000 in the bank in the end of game.
-Terran don't suck completely
