Early Game
In each of the 3 games Ive played with Cakemix, hes always gone random. Each time he drew Terran. Apparantly, the God of Imbalance was out to get him=)
The game progressed normally, Cakemix deciding to do a wall-in choke, setting up a supply depot, followed by a barracks. In case of early double rush, I decided I'd do a 9-pool and try to hit one of our opponents to disrupt their economy. Because Cakemix and myself were so close together, my scouting overlord never reached either opponents base in time to inform us of the other race, though we were soon to find out.
In all honesty, I was positive this would be another newbie bash like our previous two games....

We were obviously dealing with superior intellect. His commentary on how good cakemix (the inanimate object, not the person) tasted continued through most of my early build.
Before my 6 lings hatch, I decided to send out a drone to scout my opponent's base. Before it even got to either opponents base, it ran into 6 of Cavalry's zerglings. Because of their direction, I assumed they were going for Cakemix who didnt even have his barracks complete. I started sending my lings to defend, when I saw El~Ninos zerglings already at my base! Double ling rush! I was getting a sunken up at my base, but this would be difficult to stop. Well, I tried dancing my zerglings around long enough to give my sunken some time to establish itself, but the superior number of zerglings ran through my small blockade of zerglings. I was forced to attack with all my drones (roughly 11) and my remaining lings to fend them off. I managed to defend against the attack, only losing 4 drones, and all my zerglings. Just as I was re-establishing myself (2lings for defense) another 6 zerglings break into my base. Through even MORE micro, I manage to beat back these zerglings as well.
At this point, Im pretty sure I was dead. I had around 6 drones, 2 zerglings, and 1 sunken. Cakemix had amounted a decent size M&M force, but my overlord (which was now over SkyCavalrys base) showed he was defending with 4 sunken colonies, soon to be 5. Comstat revealed that El~Nino had also sunkened himself in with 5 sunkens, and was already getting gas! Seeing that Mutalisks would be the soup of the day, I knew I would need some Spore colonies.
Mid-Game
I began to spawn a hatchery at my choke and also morphed some more lings along with an evolution chamber (still no gas at this point). My scouting overlord finally left SkyCavalrys base after seeing 6+ sunkens set up, and a Hydra den going up. Before my Hatchery finished spawning, 12 zerglings came in too play from El~Nino. Against, I was severly set back (forced to cancel the hatchery) but managed to beat back the zerglings. Cakemix re-comstated El~Nino and spotted 6+ mutas already built. Quickly, I threw up 4 creep colonies, morphing two into sunkens and 2 more into spore colonies. The early attack never came however. I had finally started getting gas when El~Nino began checking expansions and overlord hunting. He stopped Cakemixs attempt to expand to the northern island via floating a CC with his Mutas. Cakemix tried using Wraiths and a Valkyrie but his units were greatly outnumbered and unable to stop the muta swarm.
With his expansion attempt denied and my major economic set-back, things were looking really grim. I decided I would never win a Muta war at this point so intead, I decided to do the only thing possible, get Hydralisks. I morphed a HydraDen, re-established another 2 Hatcheries (one above my starting, and another at my choke) and set up another 2 sunkens and a spore colony at my choke. Just as the spore finished morphing, El~Ninos 12 Muta's flew over my choke defense taking only mild damage from the spore colony. They continued on to my peonline. It was there that they met up with a pair of spore colonies, but due to bad placement, only one would fire. Seeing this, I began to establish another spore colony in a triangle formation above my hatchery. I managed to get only 2 Hydras after losing the spore colony when oddly enough, he retreated. I recieved some small help from Cakemix's Wraith and SciVessel Irradiate, but his forces could of easily overpowered mine.
It was barely 2 seconds after the muta's left from my base that Cavalry decided to attack. He sent in a small force of 12 Hydras and 12 Lings, but due to TERRIBLE micromanagement, his Hydra's and lings tried running by my 2 sunken, 7 ling defense. All of his units were killed with the loss of 6 zerglings. I quickly pumped out another 6 zerglings and sent them into SkyCavalrys base. When I arrived, I took out the few hydra defenders and proceed to hit his expansion hatchery. However reinforcement hydras swept in killing all my zerglings. Seeing this opportunity, I decided to expand to my natural, while building up a small force of 12 Hydras. Stupidly, I sent them totally un-upgraded straight into SkyCavalrys base, though killing a suprising number of Hydras through focused fire, a combined force of muta/hydra easily overpowered by unupgraded hydras.
Late Game
Cakemix has still yet to expand, and I have just gotten my Hatchery built at my expansion. Our two opponents however, have both expanded to their naturals and had them midly established. It's at this point that I rally the troops=) I tell Cakemix we need tanks if we want to break those sunken barriers, Ive got 12 Hydras at my disposal while cakemix has amounted a small force of M&M, Golaiths (with upgrade) 2 Siege tanks, a SciVessel, and Valk/Wraith air support. I've gotten both the upgrades for my Hydras finally, and got my ecomony rolling once again. At my natural I havent bothered to build a Gas mine though, but the Hydra production never stops from here. We begin our siege on El~Ninos expansion. He has a single sunken protecting it, but quite an attack force....
These are the first of many reinforcements to come....

Needless to say, a huge battle insues. Cakemix fires off an irradiate or two, and lets his siege tanks fire as normal. His entire force of marines and goliaths are killed. Strangely enough, most of my Hydra's are still intact thanks to medic support. Still though, the aftermath is not pretty...

Having destroyed the majority of the attack force, Cakemix has finally expanded to his natural. He transfers a few of his SCVs to begin mining the fresh mineral patches. I on the other hand, quickly create more and more Hydras from 4 Hatcheries. I also send in my remaining hydras to clear out El~Nino's natural expansion. Comstat reveals that El~Nino has once again began production of mutalisks and zerglings, tipping us off that he might have an expansion. Rather than wait for him to build up another attack force, Cakemix begins overlord hunting with his Valkyrie/Wraith force. They easily destroy the Muta defenders and proceed to rip apart the clumped overlords. Scourge scouts inform us that El~Nino has taken the north east island and placed to spores for defense. With lack of proper resources to deal with this, we decided to just continue destroying his main. A comstat also reveals that SkyCavalry has gotten defliers. Fearing a crackling/swarm attack, I tell Cakemix to get some firebats which turn out to be unnecessary.
Wrapping up the game
Instead of cracklings and darkswarms, we get Hydras and a badly aimed DarkSwarm (singular). The single darkswarm is casted to far from the siege tank and 24 Hydras to be effective. I simply take my hydralisks and move them 2 steps back. This "tactic" draws out the Hydras exposing them to normal fire again. The hydra battle insues, but with medic support, my hydralisks prevail. He attempts to send his remaining hydras back under the swarm, but Cakemixs siegetank opens fire into the swarm drawing them back out to their deaths. Its at this point that for whatever reason SkyCavalry gives up. He exchanges his ggs, and promptly leaves the battle field. Smelling victory is close, I tell CakeMix to begin sieging the remaining sunkens. He clears a sunken close to the choke point allowing 12 of my hydras to sneak above his base and begin hitting his Spire (not Greater Spire), Queens nest, Evolution Chamber, and Spawning pool. His constant flow of zerglings manage to take down the now unprotected tank (the other dying to a Sunken colony=P) and begin hitting my hydras. Throughly annoyed by this, I decide to just screw the sunkens and attack with my 24 hydras. With the clearing of the sunkens and the reinforced M&M's from Cakemix, our opponent concedes with a gg.
Lessons Learned
1. Obviously, dont give up. I was pretty sure I was screwed, but hey we won=) The same goes to SkyCavalry. Had he stayed in the game, he still would of had his natural expansion and plenty of hatcheries to replenish his forces.
2. Kill your opponent when hes down. Granted it would of been a bit cheap, but rather than build 5+ sunkens at both your bases, if those minerals were put to hatcheries and zerglings they could of easily of overpowered me.
3. Upgrades! Remember to upgrade everything=P El~Nino had 0-1 mutas, but I don't believe anyone else had an upgrade. I got the ranged weapons upgrade as we were destroying El~Ninos base=P
4. Micromanage. El~Nino did a good job of removing the irradiated mutalisks from his bunched mutas, but he made a few mistakes in keeping his overlords clumped. Skyblades miss-placed darkswarm probably lost him the game.
