| An actual SC Report! | | | Author: | | | IP: | 206.10.1XXXX | | Date: | 07/31/02 12:07 | | Game Type: | Starcraft | | Labels: | none | | Report Rating: , # of Ratings: 1, Max: 7, Min: 7 Lifetime Rating for Decay: 8.0385 | | Okay, I’ll be honest with you. This battlereport will not have any pictures. So for those of you out there who are mindless cretins who only come here to see pics of mass mutalisks ripping up probes or Blademasters running over creeps, click the little back button in your toolbar. And don’t complain, either. This will be better than a senseless fanfic or spam from some guy named I_Rape_Goats, TIME is not on your SIDE, or Ass/Rammer (I hope).
As you may have noticed, I am writing this mainly because I am bored with the lack of reports (REAL reports, mind you) When I would say something like this in the forums or on b.net, I got flamed by some jerk who has never written a BR before, telling me to (and I quote), “Quit whining you don’t do anything about it,” to which I replied, “Neither do you.” He then went on to say, STFU n00bie! squelch!” Hmm…..
Now, I have not asked the other player of this game if it is alright for me to br it, but since he’s not on, I guess it’s his own fault. So, without further ado(sp?), on with the mediocre BR!
Map: Lost Temple (nothing new here)
Players
Blazinlf[lost], Purple Protoss, 12:00 – (Blaze)
Decay_, Teal Terran, 6:00 - (Decay)
Blaze warped in his shiny new purple command center at the twelve o’clock position, ready to fight for the glory of Aiur. He cloned his probes perfectly and set his Nexus to make another little robotic worker to help.
A giant dust cloud arose on the surface of the plateau when Decay landed his glistening teal command center at the six o’clock position. Four SCVs exited the building and began to mine minerals while another was put into production.

Both players scouted with peons, which revealed the enemies locations before losing they’re lives to marines and zealots. After pumping zealots until he had eight, Blaze sent six of them south, towards the Terran base. Decay, with the intent of going for a heavy metal strategy, had trained only 4 marines and placed them in a bunker behind his wall-in. A newly constructed Vulture hover-bike also waited at the wall-in. The Machine shop that had just finished began to whir, as it researched Seige mode for Tanks.
Because of the placing of the bunker, the zealots took potshots as they walked by on their way to raze the terran main. Two SCVs were taken from mineral duty and sent to help repair anything that would become damaged. With the Vulture plugging the only hole big enough for the zealots to squeeze through, they began to attack it. The SCVs were able to repair it however, and the zealots were forced to retreat, losing three of their brethren.
Another Factory and a Starport were constructed in the terran main, while a Forge, Cybernetics Core, and later cannons (two at the ramp, and two protecting the mineral line) were warped into the Protoss base. Both players kept up construction of they’re suply buildings, Decay placing his Depots out of the way, and Blaze reinforcing his Psi web with more pylons.
As the Factory and Starport were finished, their add-ons began building (a Machine Shop and a Control Tower, respectively). Also, a Comsat Center was added to the Command Center, an Engineering Bay was constructed, and an Armory was begun.
Meanwhile, back in the Protoss main, a Probe was sent to warp in another Nexus at the natural expansion. On its way out, it opened a warp rift for a Citadel of Adun and a Robotics Facility. Once that finished, Blaze also warped in Robotics Support Bay, obviously hoping for a successful reaver drop. When the natural Nexus finished warping, he maynarded probes from the main, and began construction of new probes from both nexii.
Once he got the Control Tower add-on to his starport, Decay quickly built two Dropships. He put two SCVs in the first one out, and sent it to the southeast island. After ringing the island with turrets, he built a Command Center. He also built turrets in his mineral line, on the ledge behind his natural expansion, and at his ramp. He also began construction of another Command Center in his main, which floated to his natural when it was done, followed by some SCV maynarding.
Both players began to unfold their palns at the same time, Blaze sending a Shuttle with two Reavers and Decay sending three Dropships full of Seige Tanks and Goliaths. The two drops passed within a half a screen of each other, each alerting the other to the impending drop. Decay sent four Goliaths to hide behind his Command Center, having seen the Support Bay with a Comsat scan, and therefore knowing Reavers were on the way. Blaze, not so sure of what was coming, sent his whole force, consisting of ten Zealots and two Dragoons into his mineral line.
The Shuttle, seeing only one turret in the mineral line, moved in and dropped its cargo onto the helpless SCVs, taking only two hits from the Turret. Once the Reavers were down, they each fired off a scarab at the Turret, causing it to explode along with a couple of SCVs. The remainder of the SCVs were fleeing to the natural, the main being nearly mined out anyway. After taking a few shots at the CC, three Tanks rolled of the assembly lines and seiged up with in range of the deadly, slug-like robots. Two of the Tanks bit the dust taking only one Reaver with them. The remaining Reaver decided to live and fight another day, however and got into the shuttle. At this, the Goliaths ran out from behind the burning Command Center and shot down the fleeing Shuttle, ending the Reaver’s reign of terror.
Meanwhile, in the North, three Tanks were dropped onto the low ground below the cliff on the West side of the base, near the mineral lines. They seiged up, and began blasting away at the zealots. The Dragoons tried to intercede, but were to large to fit through the mass of confused Zealots. Decay, seeing what was happening, ordered the Arclite shells to be fired at the Dragoons. By the time they were able to make it close enough to hit the Tanks, they were already weak. They managed to destroy one of the Tanks before dieing, again. The remainder of the terran forces landed on the now cleared area, the fourth Tank seiging up and firing on the nexus. Once it was in siege mode, the first two unseiged and join the others on the ledge, also firing upon the nexus. A scout from a newly warped Stargate tried to take down the tanks alone, but a Dropship full of Goliaths unloaded and put and end to it quickly, with no casualties. Seeing the game falling away, Blaze sent in his three newly warped Zealots, along with the remaining six from before, ending the Terran siege just as the nexus and a Gateway exploded, nearly simultaneously.
Game Recap
Expansions:Blaze – 1, Main is mined out
Decay – 2, Main is mined out
Troops:Blaze – Three Zealots
Decay – Assorted Metal units and four Dropships
Knowing that the game was in his hands, Decay sent another force of Tanks and Goliaths, this time dropping them on the ridge above the Protoss natural Expansion. The tanks siege up only to have all three Dropships get shot down from behind by three Scouts led by a Corsair. Unfortunately, only two Goliaths made it out, and while they fired on the scouts, zealots were dropped on the tanks, effectively destroying them. But the damage had been done, as most of the Probes had been destroyed by the Tanks.
After a frontal assault by a control group of zealots was thwarted at the Terran natural by Goliaths and Tanks, Decay sent all of his troops north to raze the Protoss base. After seiging the Tanks to destroy the Photon Cannons protecting the ramp and the expansion and sending in the goliaths to destroy what probes remained, nothing was left except builings. While the expansion Nexus was razed, Blaze put two Probes in his last Shuttle, dropping one at the Northwest island and the other at the nine main. They each started a nexus. GG’s were exchanged but as Decay destroyed the last Protoss building, he found that it wasn’t over yet. Three Comsat scans and two drops later, however, and the game came to a real end.
Now as I said, this was not really meant to get great ratings or anything (but if you base it on some of the recent crap it would), so don’t flame me if you don’t like it. I just threw it together in a couple hours, because I got bored.
Anyways….
Lessons Learned
1. If you’re gonna rush, rush early
2. Make sure you protect your workers
3. Goliaths>Scouts
4. Zealots>Goliaths
5. Tanks>Nexii
