Welcome to the part of this BR where stuff actually happens. Along with the BR I have included a fictional passage with every turn of the game; they're likely to be alot better than the actual BR :/.
Oh, and please note that I'm writing this as I play the game. I'm as surprised at things as you are. Anyway, the Inner Spheroids and Clanners have deployed on the map. Here's how they set up:

As you can see, it's a bit cramped. That, of course, is quickly solved during...
|
TURN 1
MOVEMENT PHASE:
The Inner Sphere wins the initiative, so the Clans move first. The Puma walks forward and positions itself to snipe with its duel PPCs.
The Inner Sphere advances the Wolfhound, moving it to counter the Puma with its deadly array of lasers, and getting it out of the Clint's way.
The two points of Elementals turn on their jumpjets and fly forth, ready to open fire with their deadly SRMs on anything that approaches them.
The Clint accepts the Elementals' challenge and advances meet them with its PPC and Medium Pulse Lasers. Of course, with 110 HP between the two Elemental points, I don't think the Clint will be enough.
The Clans bring the Uller Variant A and its badass Gauss rifle into play. Fear it.
The Inner Spheroids send in the Cicada to help the Clint take down the Elemental points. On a side note, despite its lack of jump-jets the Cicada happens to be the fastest moving Mech in this particular game.
The Uller Prime advances as well, moving to back up the Elementals.
The Centurion moves forward to back up the other three Mechs. Now the Inner Sphere's mechs are all clumped together; good thing there isn't any artillery available to either side.
COMBAT PHASE:
Attack Declarations:
The Inner Sphere, having won the initiative, goes first. Doesn't make much of a difference though considering damage occurs simultaneously. Anywho, the Clint fires both Medium Pulse Lasers and its ER-PPC at Elemental Point 1.
The Elementals respond with a flight of SRMs in the Clint's direction.
The Cicada fires its Medium Lasers and Ultra AC/5 on double speed at Elemental Point 2, who again respond to their attacker's attack with a flight of SRMs.
The Wolfhound opens up on the Puma with its considerable array of Lasers and the Puma, following Clan honor codes that call for one-on-one combat, lets loose with both PPCs and its Flamer in the Wolfhound's direction.
The Centurion fires on the Uller Variant A with the awesome power of its LB-X AC/10 and its LRM rack. The Uller sends back a Gauss Rifle bullet and two Medium Laser beams.
The Uller Prime, deprived of a target by the Clan honor codes, waits for a target to free up.
Damage:
The Clint, building up 4 heat total for the turn, misses with its PPC and both MPLs.
The missile strike from Elemental Point One, who can't build up heat, hits the Clint with 6 Missiles. The missiles -dealing 12 damage- blow clean through the Left Torso armor on the Clint and score a Critical Hit on the Clint's Jump Jet, reducing its Jump MP to 5 from the original 6. The other missile out of the six hits the Clint's center torso and knocks off a bit of armor.
The Cicada's AC/5 hits with both shots, halving the HP of Elementals #1 and #5 of Elemental Point 2. Its Medium Lasers miss completely, though. The Cicada gains no excess heat for the turn.
The Elementals just barely got the Cicada with their SRM barrage, hitting with 5 of their 10 fired SRMs. They leave the Cicada's torso armor paper thin.
The Wolfhound hits the Puma with two out of three of its Medium lasers and its Large Laser. The Large Laser lands a hit on the Puma's Left Torso, more than halving its remaining armor, while the Medium Lasers hit the Right Arm and Left Leg of the OmniMech, shaving off a lesser, but still decent amount of damage. The Wolfhound generates 2 excess heat this turn.
Thanks to the Puma's targeting computer both ER-PPCs and the Flamer hit the Wolfhound. The PPCs leave the Wolfhound's Right Torso and Left Arm with almost no armor left on them, and the Flamer bumps the Mech's heat up to 4. Also, taking 20 damage that turn, the Wolfhound's pilot struggles to keep the 'Mech upright, and just barely manages it. The Puma generates 12 excess heat for the turn, reducing its movement points and accuracy.
The Centurion's LRM-10, aided by the joy that is ARTEMIS IV FCS, lands 8 LRMs all on the Uller Variant A's right torso, leaving it competely armorless. The shotgun-esque LB-X 10/AC lands half of its buckshot-esque shot on the Uller's Right Arm, taking a significant 5 point chunk out of the 8 armor points there.
Heh. The Uller Variant A's Medium Lasers hit, taking chunks out of the Centurion's Right Arm and Left Torso. Happily for the Inner Sphere, the Centurion is more heavily armored than the Uller, having a 20 ton advantage on it, and the hits don't melt off as much armor (Proportionately) as the ones it scored on its smaller opponent. Then comes the Gauss Rifle. A bullet from one of the most damaging weapons in the game smashes into the Centurion's Center Torso, leaving only 3 armor points there. The Centurion is knocked off its feet and spun around 180 degrees by the Rifle's mighty power, taking 5 damage to its Left Arm on impact with the ground. Not too significant, but it'll take time for the Centurion to stand next turn. Despite all the punishment it's taken, the Centurion only accumulates 3 heat. The Uller Variant A however, tops the Centurion and dissipates ALL the heat it generated. Thus is the joy of a ballistic centric loadout.
Storyline
Mark Ryan's lance charged forward as one at the three black-painted Nova Cat 'Mechs. The Clans had decided to go after the world he had been hired by, so now he was facing off against one of the patrol lances. Although there were less of them, he knew that the Clans traveled in units of five. There would be Elementals nearby and they, with their incredible anti-mech capabilities, were the bane of 'Mechs.
His crosshair pulsed gold as his weapons acquired a lock on his target, the 'Mech he had identified as an Uller. Judging by the size and shape of the gun mounted on the Mech's right arm that thing was packing a gauss rifle, which he knew didn't bode well for his chances of survival. He pressed down on the firing stubs on his joysticks, letting loose ten LRM missiles and a spray of shot in the direction of the OmniMech. He barely had time to notice that his aim was true when a pair of Medium Lasers cut across his Right Arm and Left Torso, followed immediately by a nickel-ferrous gauss rifle slug ripping in to his 'Mechs chest. He fought to control his Centurion as it spun off-balancedly to one side, but failed; it crashed to the ground on its Left Arm, crushing some of the armor there and rattling Mark around in his seat. He glanced at his secondary monitor, which revealed that his center torso armor was almost completely gone and most other areas were pretty banged up. He spat blood mixed with saliva as he fought to stand again.

Turn 2
MOVEMENT PHASE:
The Inner Spheroids win the initiative again and the Clans move first.
The Clanners choose to advance Elemental Point 2 and block the clear land bridge.
The Inner Spheroids choose to ignore them, Jump-Jetting the Clint forward 5 hexes and landing adjacent to Elemental Point 1.
The Clanners respond by moving Elemental Point 1 in to the same hex as the Clint. This can only mean one thing: ANTI BATTLEMECH ATTACKS! When performing an Anti-Battlemech attack the Battle Armors will literally climb on to the Battlemech, then either plant explosives on its legs or fire their weaponry pointblank at it. Either is quite effective.
The Inner Sphere runs their Cicada across the river and right up to the Uller Variant A.
The Clan pilot boldy responds by turning the Uller to face the Cicada pointblank. All things considered, the Uller should probably be able to win a shootout between the two. But the honor codes might buy the Cicada some time, as the Uller already has an opponent.
The Wolfhound walks across the river and turns to face the Puma, ready to fire its badass Lasers at point blank.
The Puma moves a hex to put itself next to the Elementals on the land bridge, then turns to face its opponent.
The Centurion stands and runs back into the battle, orienting to blow the living crap out of the Variant A, again. The Uller Prime, still targetless, starts to move around so he can flank the Inner Spheroids.
COMBAT PHASE:
Attack Declarations:
The Clint opens fire on the Elementals standing in his hex with his Medium Pulse Lasers and ER-PPC.
The Elementals in the Clint's square Leg Attack it. Thanks to the Clint's jumping tactics, they just barely get to the Battlemech. But it'll still hurt, as they climb up on to its left leg and plant explosive charges there.
And now the Cicada pilot perhaps makes a rather severe mistake, and opens up on the Uller Variant A with both Medium Lasers, the Small Pulse Laser, and its Ultra AC/5 which is again firing at double rate. In doing this it breaks the honor code which the Clans consider to bind both sides and allows the Clanners to break the code as well. Much fun ahead :P.
Elemental Point 2 (Which is blockading the bridge) pass up their attack.
The Wolfhound lets loose with its 3 Front-facing Medium Lasers and Large Laser on the Puma.
The Puma replies with both its ER-PPCs, not using the Flamer to slow the rate of heat accumulation.
The Centurion fires on the Uller Variant A with its Autocannon, LRMs and Medium Lasers.
The Uller Variant A fires on the Centurion with both Medium Lasers and its Gauss Rifle.
Damage:
Clint succeeds in hitting with both of the Pulse Lasers but the lasers hit seperate targets, so the Point remains relatively intact. The Clint's heat rises to a grand total of 12, reducing its movement and hurting his accuracy.
The explosives on the Clints set by the Elementals go off, blasting four points of armor to smithereens.
The Cicada hits the Uller Variant A with both AC/5 attacks, both Medium Lasers and the Small Pulse Laser, blowing chunks out of the Variant A's Left Leg, Right Torso, Left Torso, and Left Arm. The hits on the Right Torso do the most damage, taking out both of the two XL Engine criticals. When you hit engine criticals, the Engine generates 5 more heat per destroyed critical slot. In case you haven't been able to tell, heat = bad. 3 engine hits renders the engine inoperable and the Mech shuts down.
The Uller Variant A's Medium Lasers and Gauss Rifle all connect with the Centurion. The Gauss Rifle hits the Centurion's Right Leg, and the Medium Lasers hit the Mech's Center Torso and Left Arm. The Right Leg is left with almost no armor and the Medium Laser punches through the Center Torso armor, destroying an XL Engine slot and a Gyro slot. The Centurion, however, manages to keep standing; but with a punctured Center Torso, it's doubtful he'll stay that way.
The Wolfhound, despite firing at point blank range, manages to miss with one of its Medium Lasers. The other two and the Large Laser, however, manage to connect. The Large Laser, by some strange stroke of luck, hits the Puma's Left Torso again punching through the armor there and knocking out a Double Heat Sink. Both ER Medium Lasers drive into the Center Torso, shaving away more than half the armor there. One of them manages to find its way through a crack in the armor and knocks out one of the XL Engine slots. The Wolfhound's heat rises to 6, reducing its movement.
The Puma's ER-PPCs once again both manage to connect with its target. One tears into the Right Leg, the other the Right Torso. the Right Torso hit punches through the damaged Right Torso armor, rips the innards to pieces, blows the arm off, then melts off a rather large chunk of the Wolfhound's Center Torso armor. The Pilot fails to keep the Wolfhound standing, and it takes 4 damage to its Left Arm when it hits the ground; the fall smashes the Upper Arm Actuator. However, the Puma's heat skyrockets to 22 and its pilot just barely stops the automatic safety features from shutting down his Mech.
Only one of the Centurion's Medium Lasers missed the Variant A. Everything else hit, including all 10 LRMs. 5 LRMs hit the Left Torso, punching clean through; some Cluster rounds hit the Right Leg, and a lucky volley of 5 LRMs blew the Right Arm - With Gauss Rifle - clean off. But the real prize came when several cluster shots hit the Left Torso - totalling it and the 2 XL Engine slots it held. Those and the other 2 XL Engine slots taken down by the Cicada's volley puts the OmniMech offline. The first kill goes to the Inner Sphere! Anyways, the Centurion's heat rises to 7, impeding its movement slightly.
Storyline
Mike Aaron trudged through the river, his target in site all the while. As he glanced at his secondary monitor which revealed the damage dealt to his 'Mech by the insane power of the Puma's dual PPCs he thought back to his Solaris days, specifically the battle that had cost him the championship.
He felt the change in terrain under his 'Mechs feet as he trudged out of the water on to the rough beach, then up to the clear terrain where the black-painted Clan 'Mechs stood. He swung his crosshairs in to position and the moment he saw the gold pulsation that signified a target lock, he let loose with his full array of lasers. He frowned as one of his Medium lasers missed to one side; he'd have to remember to get the weapons servo fixed.
As the thought ran through his mind, two of the glowing artificial lightning bolts that were PPC blasts struck his 'Mech. One of them carved out his right torso and severed his 'Mech's right arm, and the other blasted in to the 'Mech's Right Leg. The Wolfhound was thrown off its feet by the force of the PPC and it fell face down on the ground. Mike began struggling to right himself with the one arm he had left.

TURN 3
MOVEMENT PHASE:
Wow. The Inner Sphere wins the Initiative ONCE AGAIN and the Clans move first, ONCE AGAIN.
The Uller Prime rotates around to face the battered Centurion, which would be a free target even if the honor code had not just been broken. The Inner Sphere responds by sending the Centurion to a forested tile to protect it, then rotating it to give it LOS to the remaining enemy forces.
The Puma, greatly impaired by its overheated Fusion Engine, has only enough Movement Points left to turn and walk a little bit.
The Clint walks away from the Elemental Point that was attacking it and orients to face the Puma. Screw honor, that thing's packing 2 PPCs.
Elemental Point 1 is not about to let the Clint go and they chase after it, landing in the same hex as the 'Mech once again.
The Wolfhound stands and turns to bring its now rather diminished laser arsenal to bear against the Puma.
Elemental Point 2 flies away from their failed blockade of the bridge and lands in the same hex as the Wolfhound. I pity that Mech.
The Cicada turns around to face the Puma. That OmniMech is most surely doomed.
![Impending pwning :]](users/Epoch71/BR2/p2-t3m.jpg)
COMBAT PHASE:
Attack Declarations:
The Inner Sphere goes first, once again. The Cicada fires its AC/5 on double speed, both its Medium Lasers and its Small Pulse Laser at the Puma.
The Puma attacks using both ER-PPCs and its Flamer against the Centurion.
The Wolfhound fires its remaining 2 front-facing Medium Lasers at the Puma.
Elemental Point 1 shoots its SRMs and its Small Lasers at the Clint.
The Clint fires both its Medium Pulse Lasers and its ER-PPC at the Puma.
Elemental Point 2 fires its SRMs and its Small Lasers at the Wolfhound.
The Centurion lets loose on the Uller Prime with its Right-arm mounted LB-X 10/AC.
The Uller Prime opens up on the Centurion with its ER Large Laser and its Small Pulse laser.
Damage:
While only one of the Cicada's Ultra AC/5 shots hit, everything else finds its mark. One of the Medium Lasers hits the Puma's left torso and manages to finish it off, blowing it and the arm (Which had one of the PPCs on it) off the Mech. The same laser combined with a second also burned off all the Center Torso's armor, leaving the internal structure vulnerable.
The Puma's Flamer misses completely, but working past the heat the PPCs connect with the Centurion. One hits the Left Torso and the other hits the Right, burning all the remaining armor on both locations away and blasting in to the Internal Structure. Although the actual hit on the Right Torso was less severe, it did have a nasty side effect.
A Critical Hit was scored on a full container of LRM 10 ammunition, unleashing 120 damage on the Right Torso's innards. Needless to say, the Right Torso was vaporized instantly and the entire Mech was only saved from being gutted by the wonder that is CASE. The feedback from the ammo explosion did two damage to the Centurion's pilot, who managed to stay conscious. And on top of the explosion ripping off the entire right side of the 'Mech, there were 3 XL Engine Slots in that torso section. The Centurion shuts down permanently. But despite the massive damage dealt to his shutting-down 'Mech, the Centurion pilot manages to keep it standing. The Puma's heat spirals to well over 30 (The operational limit) and the Mech shuts down.
The Wolfhound's Medium Lasers both hit the Puma, and one connects with the head, dealing one damage to the Mech's pilot who falls unconscious. The other shot hits the Center Torso, blasting away 5 points of Internal Structure.
Elemental Point 1 connects with 8 Missiles and all of their Small Lasers find their mark on the BattleMech. Damage is scattered about and most of the Clint's frontal armor is ripped apart. The biggest damage occurs when a Small Laser blows through the Right Arm's armor and takes out the ER PPC and the Lower Arm Actuator.
One of the Clint's Medium Lasers and its ER-PPC shot hit the Puma, both landing on the severely damaged Center Torso, which is swiftly vaporized by the concentrated energy. The Fusion Engine's shielding is completely destroyed and the Mech goes nova. The Clint's heat rises to 7 points.
Elemental Point 2 connects with both SRMs and Small Lasers, destroying all of the Center Torso armor and a good amount of the Internal Structure there. Additionally, it results in two Critical Hits on the Wolfhound's engine. Despite all this, the Wolfhound manages to dissipate all of the heat it had built up. The Pilot managed to keep the Wolfhound upright, as well.
The Centurion's LB-X 10/AC shot hits the Uller Prime full on in the Center Torso, stripping the location of all its armor and denting the Internal Structure there.
The Uller Prime's ER Large Laser punches through the already doomed Centurion's Center Torso's Internal Structure, leaving only 2 points left and knocking out one of the Medium Lasers mounted there. Still, the Centurion survives it. Then the Small Pulse Laser hits the same spot, and the Centurion explodes in a massive fireball.
Storyline
"They have no honor!" Kar Rosse shouted in his otherwise empty cockpit as the Inner Sphere's 'Mechs surrounded him. He knew he could not move fast enough to get out of the way, so he decided to exact revenge on them for what they would do. He turned to face the damaged Centurion that fled from the other Kit Fox in his star. He spun to face the crested Inner Sphere Mech and trained his PPCs on it. If the Inner Spheroids would break the code that bound all warriors, so would he. Even as the first hits of the enemy assault struck his OmniMech and tore away its armor, he pulled down on the firing studs.
From the arms of his OmniMech lanced two brilliant blue-white blasts of artificial lightning that crackled through the air and smashed into the left and right side of the Centurion's torso. Kar Rosse smiled as an explosion blossomed from the Centurion's side; he had hit the LRM's ammunition container. And then he smiled no more, as the Centurion's companions discharged their weapons in to his 'Mech, blowing through its torso and tearing the shielding from his fusion reactor.
And then, like a little sun, the OmniMech went nova.

TURN 4
It seems that Clan Light 'Mechs do not beat Inner Sphere Medium mechs after all. Anyways, back to the action!
MOVEMENT PHASE:
Well, the Inner Sphere wins the initiative, again. The Clans start out by moving the Uller Prime up to the Clint, then torso-twisting it so it can fire upon all the Mechs below it.
The Inner Sphere responds by moving the Cicada around to the back of the Uller so it can fire on the weak back armor.
The Clans send Elemental Point 1 to the hex behind the Cicada.
The Inner Sphere send the Clint between the dead Uller Variant A and the Cicada, putting the Elementals and the Uller Prime in its firing arc.
The Clans move their other Elementals up to engage the Inner Sphere 'Mechs.
The Wolfhound moves around to fire on the Uller Prime's weakened front.
COMBAT PHASE:
Attack Declarations:
The Inner Sphere goes first again. The Cicada fires on the Uller Prime with its AC/5 at Double Speed, both of its Medium Lasers and its Small Pulse Laser.
The Clanners respond by using the ER Large Laser, the Small Pulse Laser, the Streak SRM 4 and the LB-X 5/AC on the Uller Prime against the Wolfhound.
The Wolfhound fires its 2 remaining forward Medium Lasers at the Uller Prime.
Elemental Point 1 fires its Small Lasers at the Cicada.
The Clint fires its dual Medium Pulse Lasers at the Uller Prime.
Elemental Point 2 fires its Small Lasers at the Cicada.
Damage:
The Cicada's AC/5 jams itself on the first shot, putting the weapon out of comission for the rest of the game; the pilot dumps the ammunition. Its lasers find their mark though, chewing armor off its Right Arm, Left Rear Torso. Both locations are stripped of armor, and the LB-X 5/AC in the Uller's Right Arm recieves a Critical Hit, destroying it.
The LB-X AC/5's shotgunlike blast misses the Wolfhound completely, but the Streak SRM-4, the ER Large Laser and the Small Pulse Laser all make contact. The ER Large Laser blasts into the already damaged Left Leg and burns through the remaining armor. The Foot Actuator melts away under the focused beam of light. The laser darts of the Small Pulse Laser hit the Left Arm, blowing apart most of the Internal Stucture there, but not destroying any of its components. Then, like a finishing move, the Streak's four missiles tear in to the Center Torso of the Wolfhound and explode, taking out what little Internal Structure remained there. The Fusion Engine, now completely unshielded, explodes in a massive fireball.
One of the Wolfhound's lasers falls upon the Uller's unarmored Right Arm, vaporizing it, and the other strikes the unprotected Center Torso. The Laser burns through the Internal Structure and finds its mark on one of the Uller's Double Heat Sinks and the Mech's Gyro. Yet the Clan Pilot skillfully keeps the Mech upright, a testament to the Clanners' superior training.
Elemental Points One and Two miss their marks completely, and the Cicada remains relatively intact.
The Clint's dual Medium Pulse Lasers strike the Uller Prime's Right Torso, stripping it of armor and digging in to the EndoSteel. One of them finds its way to an XL Engine Slot, putting a hole in the Engine's shielding.
Storyline
Kiro looked around as the Inner Sphere Mechwarriors closed in on him. They fought like animals, without honor. He knew that his 'Mech was outweighed and outgunned so he moved to make the best of his situation. He walked himself in to a better position, then turned to face his oncoming opponents.
He centered his crosshair on his target, the Inner Sphere 'Mech known as the Wolfhound, which had been severely damaged from the battle. Most of its right side was gone and what was left was charred and bent, letting off little plumes of smoke and sparking now and then.
The crosshairs centered on the Mech and pulsed gold, and the Streak launcher confirmed a target lock. He pulled down on the firing stub and watched his assault's effect.
His autocannon's shot missed to one side, but his lasers wrought havoc on the 'Mech's left side. The SRMs flew into the 'Mech's chest and detonated, ripping apart the exposed internal structure, and in a blinding flash the 'Mech's fusion engine exploded, consuming the 'Mech in a fitting funeral pyre. Kiro smiled and turned to face down the remaining Inner Sphere 'Mech's, a damaged Clint and a Cicada. If he died today, he would atleast die a warrior's death.

Turn 5
MOVEMENT PHASE:
The Inner Sphere wins the Initiative again. They have incredible luck.
The Inner Sphere passes and the Clans rotate the Uller Prime to face the Cicada.
COMBAT PHASE:
Attack Declarations:
The Cicada fires its dual Medium Lasers and its Small Pulse Laser at the Uller Prime.
The Uller Prime attacks the Cicada with its ER Large Laser and its Small Pulse Laser.
The Clint lets loose on the Uller with its Pulse Lasers.
Elemental Points 1 and 2 fire theirs Small Lasers at the Cicada.
Damage:
The two Elemental Points both hit the Cicada, landing Small Lasers on both legs, the Left Arm and the Center Torso, which is stripped of armor. An XL Engine slot is destroyed in the process.
The Uller Prime's lasers both strike the Cicada's Right Torso blowing through the armor and incinerating the entire torso, including the three XL Engine slots there. The Cicada goes offline.
The Clint's Pulse Lasers strike the Uller's Left Torso, burning away the armor and part of the Internal Structure in a flurry of ruby laser-darts. The Clint dissipates all the heat it had left.
The Cicada more than avenges its death. One of its lasers cuts across the Right and Center torsos, destroying the former and leaving the latter with only 2 armor points. The other laser lances straight into the Uller's Center Torso, completely obliterating it and the OmniMech.
Storyline
Mika Drummond lead her Point forward as the remaining three 'Mechs tore into each other. She watched as the Inner Sphere's 'Mechs closed in on the last Clan 'Mech remaining. "Fire!" She called, and her and the four armored Elementals under her command let loose a spray of Small Lasers at the Cicada; the other Elemental Point did the same. Exactly half of the beams hit their target.
The Clint and the Cicada both opened fire, sending sprays of laser-darts and roving ruby beams into the OmniMech, which returned fire with lasers, missiles and a round of Cluster ammunition from its autocannon. The Cicada recoiled as the OmniMech's return fire tore through its armor and into its torso, destroying its engine; the 'Mech's safety cutouts shut it down before it could explode.
The Kit Fox had no such luck as the Inner Sphere 'Mechs' barrage destroyed its already damaged Center Torso and damaged the fusion engine beyond the point where it could shut down. The reactor's energy flowed out through any available opening, widening them as they went, and the OmniMech was immolated in atomic fire.
Mika grinned as the Clint turned and ran from her two battle-armor points. The 'Mech pilot was right to run; it stood no chance against her troops with only two Medium Pulse Lasers. In a straight up fight she might lose one or two of her warriors, but the Clint would not stand a chance. She was glad to be an Elemental.

Conclusion
Storyline
Captain John Michaels did the only thing a sane Mechwarrior would do in his position.
He ran.
He plunged deep into the forest at top speed, although he knew that by doing so he gave the Elementals a distinct advantage. He swivelled his Mech's torso around to face the oncoming battle armors; he saw them flying on trails of jump-jet exhaust over the forest.
Michaels let loose a shot from his pulse lasers and knocked one of the Elementals from the sky, its head a bloody mist. The other flurry of laser-darts flew by the oncoming 'toads' harmlessly.
The Elementals responded to his attack with a barrage of small laser bolts that burned slashes through his Mech's armor and one managed to find its way through the Clint's torso armor and hit the gyro. The Elementals sunk below the treetops for a moment then jetted out again, their black armor making them look like foul specters of death.
Michaels's death.
He exchanged another round of fire with the battle armors and ended up losing on of his Pulse Lasers, but not before a lucky shot hit one of the Elementals and sent it spiraling to the ground, its chest smoking and bloody and its suit already starting to administer emergency medical service to the warrior inside.
It was then that his broken gyro caught up with him; his Mech stumbled head over heels, plowing through the dirt several meters before coming to a halt. Michaels was struggling to stand his battered and broken 'Mech when he heard a series of clunks along the BattleMech's back. His secondary monitors reported a series of pinprick points of damage where the Elementals had dug in with their mechanized claws. The clunking sounds repeated and grew louder as the pinprick damage points formed a trail leading to the Mech's cockpit.
Michaels spun his Mech around and rolled it about on the ground in a desperate attempt to get the Elementals off him, but failed. The cockpit door blew off its hinges, propelled by a ruby lance, and knocked the Mechwarrior upside the head.
Michaels's world faded to black.
