Inexpensive Starcraft - Part I

randompubbie had been in a gaming lull since losing to his sister at Mortal Kombat. Not one to take it sitting down, randompubbie sat down and logged on to Battle.Net. What should he find but a game hosted by none other than SlayerSi3oxer(not that Korean newb who wins WCG every year) himself. The races were chosen and the game inevitably began...

SlayerSi3oxer chose Terran at the 6 location - by the way he moved his SCVs, you could tell he was teching straight for Nukes and Battelcruisers. To the north and left a bit lay randompubbie, the Zerg equivalent of randompubbie(as Protoss, which aint great).
Seconds in, SlayerSi3oxer noticed a blue Overlord and so focussed his search on the 9 position. randompubbie saw the SCV leave and quickly rerouted his Drone through the centre of the map to dodge the Terran scout. It worked, and upon arriving in the 6 main the Drone morphed it's little self into a Hatchery. SlayerSi3oxer's first Marine had just ushered away that Overlord when he stumbled onto the dastardly plot. He opened fire and alerted his superiors.

As Marine no.2 arrived with an SCV survey team, the mound of oozing flesh fell over on itself, revealing a picture perfect Zerg Hatchery. Up the nearby ramp came in perfect time a Drone - sent in anticipation of the event. The SCVs tried to block the drone from reaching the creep but instead had to spot weld a morphing Creep Colony, they had it handled. Marines numbering 3 noticed an egg about to hatch - guns were poised and expecting a clear shot at whatever was to emerge however the egg split with fury as 2 Zerglings jumped out in opposite directions and rushed the startled troops. 2 Marines were cut down before SCV intervention saved the 3rd. What little backup became available was scrambled to the area and in a short time grew to 4 Marines/3 SCVs looking as if they had the situation under control.
Another egg cracked open sentencing 2 more Lings to death. The hovering scent of fresh blood greeted half a dozen well travelled Zerglings. A suprised Marine looked to the rear of his position; his choked scream alerted the rest but it was too late. All Marines were killed and only 2 of the 3 SCVs escaped. The Zerg position received a short rest period with immediate plans to place 3 Sunken Colonies down but it wasn't long before another Terran attack came, and with full force! Mining was put on hold for every Human in the area volunteered to the mission, even the duller SCV pilots who were assigned to Vespene duty lent a hand. The first colony was surrounded and pounded but cockiness got the better of the Terran Commander pulling back 9 SCVs to restart the local economy.

4 SCVs and 3 Marines remained with the task of removing the 2 morphing Sunken Colonies. No sooner had Colony 2 been liquified than a hidden egg hatched and created a deadly stir. 2 Marines fell relieving all pressure from the third Sunken as SCVs hurried to save the last Marine. Things were looking bad for the Terrans, one functioning Sunken was enough to force a lengthy retreat.
The Zerg buildup in the area was now unhampered and small, probing attacks were launched in turn.
There was a close call for SlayerSi3oxer when some Lings entered the base and took the defense by suprise - killing the few Marines guarding the place and going on to attack anything and everything. The following skirmish was quick but messy, all Infantry exiting the Barracks' were faced with instant Zergling attack. Medics, Marines and even Firebats all were slaughtered 1 by 1. The only relief came when SCVs were pulled from duty to help out a lone Firebat. All Lings, scared by the 500,000 degree flames ran away to the safety of the creep.

The break in action gave both sides a chance to restock. randompubbie treacled Lings from all 3 Hatcheries and finally started mining Vespene. With a smallish MMF group, SlayerSi3oxer attacked the outskirts of the creep, knocking off two Colonies in thier morphing state. He came to the conclusion an all out attack on the immediate Zerg base would be suicide in his present strength. A crafty one, he opted to attack the initial Zerg base at the 9 Main. The troops maneouvered around the partial blockade and down the ramp. A scanner sweep revealed no defense though the obviousness of his excursion prompted a security check at the main Zerg base, 2 Sunkens were thrown down.
Zerg hit and run attacks continued on the Terran base forcing SlayerSi3oxer to attempt a micro intensive battle on two fronts. The outcome was not what he wished, the expeditionary force came under attack from a Sunken which cut numbers in half. The remainders fled south to attack the source buildings, hopefully halting randompubbie's unit production. A distraction cost him dearly - down at his own main, SlayerSi3oxer was on the receiving end of the whip.
2 consecutive Ling rushes created havoc in the base killing numerous troops and SCVs and taking out an already damaged Barracks. Upon regaining control of the region, he had just enough time to witness the Drone rape of last few Medics from the field trip to Zerg Central.

Sunkens and Lings just weren't doing it for randompubbie. He noticed the excess gas available and so planted a Hydralisk Den below his 'up till now useless' Lair. SlayerSi3oxer yearning for freedom, similary advanced the tech tree by completing his first ever Factory, managing to fight off a bunch of Zerglings in the process.
Hydralisks were lining up at the Zerg base of operations and when the time was right these snake-like beasts fulfilled thier destiny by you guessed it, maturing into Lurkerdom.
The stage was set for the final showdown - randompubbie gave the nod sending all he had against the Terran survivors. Zerglings rushed in but were slaughtered by accurate stimmed-Marine fire, Lurkers brought up the rear and burrowed on the edge of town. Even with the use of Scanner, there simply wasn't enough firepower to deal with the number Lurkers now inhaniting the area, M&M and a single unsieged Tank were engulfed as they tried valiantly to defend thier home. A few decisive Lurker sprawls scattered bodies around the plains, and SlayerSi3oxer was forced to surrender.
