A little background info.

The map was Challenger. He picked it out. We both chose random. I started off at the bottom of the map 6 o'clock. He started at 12 o'clock.

5 4 3 2 1...THE GAME BEGINS

I started off making 10 scv's and made my Supply depot with my 9th. I made a barrack with my 10th and another barrack when my 11th scv popped out. I made a refinery, then an academy, then an engineering bay. I was off to a good start. I made about 4 marines and sent one to scout. I was shocked to see he also had 2 barracks but he also had a factory with a machine shop being added on. I made 3 bunkers by my entrance and another command center. I took it and lifted it off to an island expansion with minerals and gas to my left. I made about 8-9 scv's there. I kept building up. I made a factory with a machine shop, a few tanks, and 2 starports with control tower. I expanded really quickly so I figured he wouldn't expect it.

First Strike

This wasn't really an attack. He sent out 1 wraith to my expansion to my left. He started killing my scv's and at this time I hadn't any air attack. For some reason, I didn't know what to do. I guess I panicked. I made a missle turret with one scv and another with another scv. He fled impending danger and I was alright for now. I made 2 wraiths and sent them to my expansion. I also made 2 bunkers by my expansion with 4 turrets. I sent over 8 marines with my newly made dropship and this was finally protected for now.

YIKES

I used my comsat station to see what he had now. I saw about 2 or 3 BC's with about a dozen wraiths. I knew that if he attacked now, I was doomed. I built up my guys and expanded again to a mineral only spot. I set up 2 bunkers there with 3 turrets. I finally made a science facility with attached physics lab. I spitted out 2 BC's and I now had about 8-10 wraiths. I made another science facility with a covert ops attached to it. I added missile silo's to both command centers. I also made a few science vessels. I thought I was doing pretty good until BAM.

Nukes R' US

I kept making more Science vessels, wraiths, BC's, etc. I was about to send over 12 stimmed firebats when it hit me, a nuke from the right side of my main. I sent a science vessel to search for his guy, but it was too late. I moved 2 BC's away. The nuke took out about 4 farms and damaged everything close to it. This included one of my command center, a factory, both barracks, and both starports. I didn't lose anything more. I had to heal the rest and make more farms which delayed me a bit. I got a little angry myself. My ghosts were ready as were my Nukes. I sent one at one of his island expansions followed by 4 cloaked wraiths. He only had 1 bunker as protection and i killed all of his scv's. He sent in about 6 cloaked wraiths with a science vessel. I was too late to retreat and all my wraiths were killed but the damage had been done. I did the same thing to another one of his island expansions. I took out 2 turrets and a bunker with the nuke and sent in 4 wraiths agains, this time with a science vessel. He knew this was gone, so he didn't bother to save it. Instead of expanding, I stopped him from expanding. I had over 7000 of both minerals and gas. As a final attempt, he sent 7 bc's at my main base. I had about 6 bc's there myself. I yamato gunned most of them and hit the rest of his bc's and wraiths with irradicate. He gave up here and after about another 4 nukes from me, he was finally destroyed.

Lesson Learned

1. I like nukes ALOT.
2. Make sure you are not vulnerable to nukes. You should have enough science vessels and turrets to take out the ghost before the nuke drops.
3. Sometimes preventing the other person from expanding is as effective as expanding.
4. Lastly, make sure your expansions have enough defense from the start of them.

This turned out to be a fun game. Any criticisms, comments, or hints and strategies are openly welcomed.
