In the middle of typing this, my mouse froze. I managed to use the keyboard to save it to microsoft works, and paste it back here. Didn't turn out so good. Please excuse.
The game
started out with me taking the bottom left, and dude taking the top. My enemies were on
the left, top right, and top left; surrounding my ally. As you know, my second ally
disconected before his barracks even came in. We asked for allies in the end, they agreed,
and the game went on. Taking note that the map was rather large, I decided to try for a
crackling drop, early in the game, so I took an early gas and teched to lair right away. I
used my newly hatched zerglings to scout in different directions. Dude was a bit more
conservitive and took two gateways, and started scouting with his shiny zealots. They
twisty map kept either of from finding the three untill 3 zealots knocked on my door.
Fortunately the zerglings that I was saving for my drop handled them nicely. I sent a
drone to scout, and mabey expand, and built a queen. When my queen had finally came in,
I used her (it, I guess) to scout, and it even took her awhile to find them. My drone took
the expansion in the bottom-right corner, and began a hatchery. When she did, she was
nearly killed by asailing photon canons. My lair mutated to a thriving Hive, and I began
evolving Adrenal Gland, and Movement. Dude supplied me with an observer over my
attack point. I checked to see how he was doing, and he had already began his drop. 4
reavers, tightly snug in a shuttle dropped behind adam's minerals. After a short pause the
Reavers fired out gleaming scarabs that traveled around the minerals and exploded, killing
many SCVs. His attack was foiled by a lone wraith who persued the shuttles with great
prejuduce. I looked back and behold! my upgrades were all complete, and I loaded the
numerous zerglings, with a few hydras, into their appointed overlords. I sent my attack
up, to browns heavily defended base. Blue had supported brown with 6 photon cannons,
in addition to his own; it looked as if it were not going to be easy. There was wone small
problem with the pylon layout: the photons cannos were supported by vulnarable pylons.
I told Dude about it, and he dropped some reavers to dispatch the pylons. Brown then
brought in his own reavers. Both of their reavers fired the scarabs simotaneously, but
brown didn't have the support of some shuttles. Brown lost his reavers, with dude having
no casualties. With the pylons destroyed I unleashed the hoards of zerglings burrowed
on browns peninsula, and managed to kill nearly all of his important buildings, but the
zerglings were killed off by 3 of blues archons. All the while, dude was harrasing yellow
with reavers, untill he put up turrets on the outskirts of his base. He then moved in to
finish brown once and for all. At this time I had 12 mutalisks screaching all the way to
browns base, accomponied by 5 hydras, 12 zerglings and 6 scourge. His reavers pushed
back blues new cannons, but were finally destroyed by 2 other reavers. I morphed my 3
mutas into guards, when a carrier approached. I slammed my scourge hard into the hull of
blue's carrier and proceded killing brown with guardians. Soon he gave up and I moved
my forces to the brim of blues base.
Building an even larger fleet I stormed blue with an attack force of 6 guardians 12 mutas, and several overlords full of goodies, like zerglings and hydras. I smothered his base by first picking off the dragoons with broodling, then the cannons with guardians. Once finished I flooded the screen with units. As a last resort he brought up the ally at end treaty. I agreed to leave an unpowered robotics facility if he promised it he hadn't expanded. He did and I sent my things to yellow... the final enemy.
At about this time dude gave me this message:
"crap! I dont have enough minerals to expand!"
I told him to cancel all upgrades, and units, but it apparently wasn't enough. He had to spend the next 10 minutes transporting probes between an expansion and his base, to get enough minerals for an expansion.
I got a defiler mound and some defilers, and prepared for an assault on yellows base. I had to look out for his ominous tanks that surrounded his base, so I took along a few queens. After I had mustered the force, and took it to his base, I noticed that, in the top right corner, blue had some photon cannons there. They managed to kill dudes expanding probe. We didnt think much of it, since blue had been supplying everyone with defence, we just assumed yellow had taken it, and blue was protecting it. Then I got around to thinking, and sent a queen up to scout it. What she found was terrifying. Blue had taken advantage of us, and had taken that base. I moved my air fleet to finally finish off blue, dude and I agreed that we needed to kill them now.
When I began the assault, I went back to build more mutas, and I saw a lone cloaked ghost. Then I realized, I had just packaged my last zerglings in a overlord and sent them clear accross the map. As a last resort, I sent my 5 drones mining gas to attack it. In came 4 wraiths, and killed my drones when he only had 3 life left. The nuke hit, and many marines poured through the ramp and finished nearly everything. Luckily I was building my tech at my expansions before anything too bad happend.
At the same time, yellow killed all my mutas and guardians assailing blues forbidden expansion. AND blue dropped 4 reavers at dudes base, and backed it up with 2 carriers, several corsairs, and a couple scouts. Dude lost his main, but his expansion was in, and defended it with one dragoon and 3 zealots.
I told them it was low, agreeing not to haveing no expansons, when they indeed, did. They offered us to ally, and I was inclined to agree. But then, after giving it a moments thought, I decided to get revenge for such a low blow. Dude and I setup a fake argument, where I trying to convince him to ally, and he would tell me not to be a wuss. While in reality, I used the minerals I had gained in complete trust that we were going to win, getting 23 mutas, while he had built 4 starports, going for Carriers.
Thinking they had us, I brought the 23 3-1 mutas up to yellows base and hammered him. Since they were allied with us, the defensive structures were not attacking back. I targeted all the turrets and cannons before they could unally. I anticipated the cloaked wraiths he had defending, and had three overlords accmpony them. With no losses I brought his base to the floor. Dude had gotton starports in and his Carriers were almost in. Then blue dropped 4 reavers, with air support on my "new" main. I sent my mutas down to defend. I really didn't worry about losing it though, I still had my first expansion.
When my mutas were halfway down, yellow quit. When my mutas started hammering on blues attack, and dude's carriers were hammering on his base, he knew it was over. But instead of seeing good games, we saw the disconnect screen. It was fun though, and close.
*after game comments and lessons*
First of all, I beleive it was okay to trick them in to allying with us. It was the only way to get revenge for them liying to us. I of course, would have never done it, had they played the game truthfully, and we still lost. I'd like your oppinion on the matter.
1. Reavers played a LARGE part of this game, they were used on EVERYBODY. Everytime they came from behind your peon line and slaughtered many of them. Had they simply put up photon cannons up, defying the drop, we probably woudn't have done nearly as well.
2. I really can't say: "Don't trust people. Kill em instead." even though I really want to. I know there are some people out there, who really are honest, and if they lose an ally in the begining, deserve to beleive that you will ally with them in the end. But it is unforgivable, taking advantage of a rule like that. Blue agreed that he didnt have an expansion, so we didnt go expansion hunting. He built up, and killed dude. Thats just dispicable.
Thats all folks. I apologize for the length, and the pasted part. :)
