Shiroman (Protoss)
Map: Lost Temple

This battle began with standard build orders. Shiroman starts out at the 6 o'clock position and UpgradedKakaru at the 9 o'clock position. Shiro begins with a dual-gateway approach. Kakaru starts immediately with a second Hatchery below his ramp.

Kakaru, behind in units, starts a Spawning Pool at his main and two Creep colonies at his expansion, just as Shiro discovers his position with a Probe. After the Spawning Pool is complete, the Creep colonies morph to sunkens and a third Hatchery is constructed at the build area directly behind his expansion.

Shiroman, having noted his enemy's locale, sends 7 Zealots to disperse the Sunken colonies. By this time, Kakaru has already fortified his expansion with numerous Zerglings. A standoff between the two forces occurs, as neither player wishes to give up ground. While the two groups of melee units stand their ground, Kakaru begins a Hydralisk Den. Meanwhile, Shiro techs up to Templars, in the hope of gaining the power of the invaluable Psionic Storm.

Kakaru notices the Zealots outside his base and orders his massive numbers of Zerglings to attack. The Zealots run, but are too slow for the many lings who have been recently equipped with the Speed Upgrade. Three Zealots escape to Shiro's main base, giving away his position. A Photon cannon, combined with Zealots, Dragoons and Templars with Psionic Storm, repel Kakaru's lings.

Shiroman, believing he now holds the advantage, counters the movement. He camps outside Kakaru's bases with the same force that defeated his enemy's Zergling horde. However, Kakaru now has a solitary lurker, with Hydralisks and Zerglings abound his expansions. Once again, Kakaru overwhelms Shiro's forces with mostly lings. Kakaru decides on a tri-Evo Chamber mass upgrade as he sends out the majority of his forces to investigate Shiroman's natural expansion.

The large mass of Zerglings is wiped out by Psionic Storm, Photon Cannons, and more Protoss ground units, but some Hydralisks and reinforcement Zerglings arrive to finish Shiro's expansion. Shiroman is now desperate for minerals as he exhausts his last patch. Shiro's forces must now rely solely on Vespene gas, mainly Templars. As his newly constructed Robotics Facility fails to build a Reaver in time, Shiroman knows he is defeated. UpgradedKakaru, with an impressive six Hatcheries working simultaneously and a significant resource advantage, sends wave after wave of units to his enemy's main complex. Shiroman now realizes that there is no salvation, and chooses to abdicate. UpgradedKakaru is victorious, and both players exchange "gg"s in good faith.
