'Twas a night in October,
as I sat on my ass,
Not a friend was a-stirring,
They had all gone to class.
So I opened up Brood War,
and sought out a game,
I created a match;
'Fast 1v1' was the name.
The map was Full Circle,
The speed was on 'Fast',
My opponent a Protoss,
Who went early gas.
I had chosen the Terrans,
My plan plain to see,
I constructed a barracks,
and twin factories.
My base was a circle,
my mines were all placed,
when in sped a probe,
that caught a grenade in the face.
My first pair of vultures,
dispatching the scout,
sped out of my base,
for a quick look about.
The choke was deserted,
I was not contained,
and also from expanding,
had my opponent abstained.
To the second expansion,
my vultures now sped,
when the first sign of enemy,
now reared up it's head.
To what should my wondering eyes now appear?
A pylon, and six photon cannons, oh dear!
I laughed with a bellow,
and called in my forces,
two siege tanks, four vultures,
began the main courses.
A quick comsat scan,
swept over his base,
when I noticed a stargate,
and fleet beacon in place.
"To the armory!" I shouted,
And Goliaths rolled out,
to join my attack force,
to continue the rout.
The tanks opened fire,
the vultures stood ready,
And charon-upgraded
Goliaths stood steady.
A lone Protoss zealot,
attacked in a flash,
and was promptly shredded,
before I could laugh.
My vultures streaked forward,
to bust up the probes,
when I suddenly saw,
where all his money goes.
And lo', there floated,
A great yellow blimp!
It sent out small fighters,
and moved like a gimp.
My goliaths stood ready,
now numbering eight,
and locked on their missiles,
to the big yellow shape.
Blue smoke! Red flame!
As it all shot about,
the vultures smashed probes,
production stalled out.
The tanks shattered buildings,
the carriers fled,
With faltering shields,
and hulls in the red.
One carrier fell,
to my anti-air walkers,
The other fled north,
to my base as a stalker.
But as in his last pylons,
my opponent did cower,
his final investment,
was shot down by a tower.
Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. I'll be here all week.
