Another day in channel clan –x17, lotsa people were already sleeping since it was ‘bout 4 o’clock, but didn’t think it was nescessary to turn off their computers. So it actually seemed crowded. The talking went about the fear of toss vs terran imbalance if the terran were to be pumped up in patch 1.08. Brace even complained about this and yelled that he already owned everybody terran V toss except for maynard ;) j/k, and with this new patch imbalance toss V terran would be inevitable. Offcourse, after making a statement like this one, one can expect a challenge and there was the challenge. Eutheria from the Dark Soul clan offered a 1on1 and I volunteerd to be observer :) After Brace made on temple/fastest, the game was on. No thrash talk was exchanged since we were all manner people. BraceYoSelf! chose terran and got the teal natives at a favorable terran spot at 9:00. DS-Eutheria chose protoss and got the purple warriors at a less favorable place for all races, the 12 o’clock spot. Brace started the heavy metal build, blocking off his ramp with 2 depots and a rax. Meanwhile Eutheria wanted reavers and went with a pylon/gate/gas/core/robotics facility/etc. build up. Both scouted the map with 1 of their workers. Eutheria was too late do anything irritating to Brace since the ramp was already blocked off when the probe arrived. The scouting scv from Brace didnt saw the rob fac in time before getting wasted by the psionic blades of the zealots. Estheria would have nothing of the heavy metal build up Brace was performing and he send in his first 3 zealots to demolish everything possible. Unfortunately Brace spotted this with an scv and countered it by building 1 marine (which was unreachable offcourse so the zealots could not demolish anything before getting killed, this only so that no one will come irri on me, cause im sick and drunk so back off), and soon after that the first vultures rolled out. A little skirmish took place at the ramp of Brace, but it wouldn’t take long before Eutheria retreated his warriors back to safety. Brace followed the zealots after laying 2 mines on the ramp. Finally arrived at the base of Eutheria, Brace layed around some mines only to be driven away by dragoons. By that time, Brace was ready to expand and Estheria had a shuttle/2 zeal/reaver flying in. ( the zealots and the reaver were in the shuttle offcourse :(
The shuttle landed the reaver in the scv line of Brace, when suddenly 2 mines rose from the ground, blasting the reaver back into orbit around the sun, never to be seen again. Brace though, lost a considerable amount of scv’s but these were easily replaced and set back to mining again.
At this point Eutheria expanded to his natural, only to be cliff dropped :( brace placed 1 tank and some mines there and the expand got raped TT. Brace himself expanded to the starting point at 6:00 and to his natural, stil having only 3 factories, a starport and a science facility to make vessels against dark templar, which were definitely coming. This could get ugly. Since Eutheria’s reaver came back and wanted another chance, Eutheria decided to try another reaverdrop on Brace, using a shuttle with a dragoon and one reaver. All fire was drawn to the dragoon so the reaver had free shots. And did he use those free shots. At the end, there were only 3 scv’s left from the lets say: 25? And still a reaver and shuttle. The reaver had to withdraw and sought out the natural expand and found lots of yummie yummie scv’s to blow up. But damn, those scv’s were fast. They ran for their lives as the shuttle kept following them. Once one marine and a wraith opened fire at the shuttle, the reaver had to leave his hideout and landed on the open ground. An unforgiving blast of terror could be heard all over the battlefield, as the reaver was decimated into one million pieces, leaving this cruel world with his final cry for forgiveness.
Now the score was 2 expands for Brace and none for Eutheria, but Eutheria was saving up his ground forces, while Brace didnt have that much force. Knowing he was outresourced and soon would face a huge army of mechanical menaces, Eutheria decided he should perform a final suicide act, to make sure he will not go down in shame hiding, but brave fighting. 14 dragoon and about 3-4 zealots came rushing in. Brace was just about to expand to his second natural as the ground began to tremble. A wild hord of raging warriors started trembling over the terran units. With the aid of an observer , the protoss warriors were able to fend of the mines that were laying around. They now arrived at the natural expand of Brace. Every single one of them expected total defeat. Groups of tanks clinging together on the ramp to vaporize the brave protoss warriors. Stil, they charged into the enemy territory. After the command center, refeniry and some units were destroyed, some question marks appeared over the heads of the dragoons. Were the hell were those tanks? There was only 1 tank, which was destroyed at the beginning of the raid. Hope arose in the heads of the warriors as they marched into the terran base.
A that time protoss expanded 2 times to mineral only naturals. While terran constucted as much new factories and tanks and vultures as possible from the remaining resources already collected by the scv’s. It proved enough to fend of the attacks protoss provided. Terran recovered from this small assault and now having 6+ factories it kept pumping mad tanks. With the aid of vessel to detect dark templar, the tank force reached the protoss base. Mines were layed down, probes were blown to hell and tanks eliminated any protoss force that dared to get near the terran force. With no backup force and with no resource income, protoss couldn’t fend of this all out assoult. The terrans were victorious.
This was a very nice game, very OK !! Eutheria proved that protoss has the exact same capacity as the terrans have, just as zerg has. We dont need no damn patch 1.08 The hell is Blizard thinking.
End stats were something like: 120000 for BraceYoSelf! and 90000 for DS-Eutheria
