The Battle For My Worship
The Battle For My Worship
Welcome to my little shindig. I
hope you will like what I produce, so sit back, take heed, and
listen, to the GREATEST BATTLE OF ALL TIME!

Now, if
you liked that little pic, you'll love what's to come. This
battle is between two of the greatest, and funniest fighgters out
there. They are.....
Old~El~Paso
Versus
Drefsab
There
will be no notes during this battlereport, therefore, i will be
posting information of what i used on this report afterwards.
Wait, this is a note......DAMMIT!
Well, all
aside, let's begin with the game. Sorry for those who wish to
know Old~El~Paso's and Drefsab's build orders, but
I do not think that build orders are important in a report, they
should be in strategies instead.
The map....
Dire
Straits

It
all begins when Old~El~Paso and Drefsab reveal their
locations and begin as the most provocative and interesting races
of all------terran. Drefsab enters at the 1:00
position and Old~El~Paso blessed us in the
7:00 position.
Now,
let's get to the action. Old~El~Paso starts by telling
me that his strategy is to be going for mass goliaths and
dropships. While Drefsab remains silent,
as always, but I really wouldn't know, seeing as I have only
played him once. Drefsab decides to go as
any terran would do on a island hopper, wraiths and later,
battlecruisers. Drefsab quickly gets gas,
and so does Old~El~Paso. They perform the
usual build orders, so you don't need to know. Drefsab techs to and
builds a pair starports, while Old~El~Paso builds a starport,
followed by a second factory. How about a minmap update?

Well, now
that that's done, let's get back to the boring text part. It's
mid-game now, and they both decide to expand at about the same
time. There is one difference though, Drefsab decides to build
two command centers in comparison to Old~El~Paso's singular command
center.
Drefsab has built just
about nothing right now, only minor defense, and a small group of
wraiths waiting to attack Old~El~Paso's main. Since he has
been teching hard. Not knowing this, but being to his advantage, Old~El~Paso loads up a few
dropships of goliaths and drops at Drefsab's lower right main.
I'm not too sure which happened, but either Drefsab canceled his
command center being built, or Old~El~Paso destroyed it.
Either way, it was wasted, and soon after, the goliaths did minor
damage as a couple of tanks wasted them.

Drefsab decided to
counterattack thinking his opponent had used most of his forces
in that attack. Sadly, he was wrong. Using his large force of
goliaths, he shot down the wraiths, even though cloaked, through
the use of easy as pie scanning.

Well,
after the attack was denied, Drefsab decides to rape
the SCVs and buildings of one of Old~El~Paso's expansions. I
think you can tell what happened from the picture...

What you saw was once a thriving
command center. The fledgling expansion barely got off the ground.
To Old~El~Paso
I
believe the quote from the famous cartoons applies: "You DO
know of course, this means war." And he shows the meaning of
the words when Drefsab tries to raid his
second expansion...

Though Drefsab's forces are being
destroyed fast, he now has three starports to make reinforcements.
Let's take a minimap update.

Drefsab has now expanded
twice, and has them fully operational. Both player's mains are
mined out. Old~El~Paso has two bases
also, but they're just getting started. He's retaken the one Drefsab destroyed, and
has taken the 5:00 start position.
In the
next few minutes, Drefsab makes many raids
upon the two expansions, and destroyed Old~El~Paso's top left expansion
again.
Since Drefsabhas been
unsuccessful in the last few raids against Old~El~Paso he decides to
take the path of the battlecruiser. He adds another starport and
starts pumping battlecruisers like crazy. When he gets his first
four, he goes on a strike to end Old~El~Paso's expansion that he
retook on the top left...

Drefsab had overwhelmed
the small base, but not after losing a couple of precious
battlecruisers. At this time, he mustered his forces for a raid
on Old~El~Paso's
final
expansion. Though he was denied, he did weaken the forces,
although it cost him another couple battlecruisers.

Drefsab was driven off,
but not for long. He built 4 more battlecruisers, finally got
level 3 /3 air, and proceeded to level the expansion...

With no mineral income left, Old~El~Paso's situation looks
grim. But, he still has the force of goliaths he used to protect
his expansion. But, he makes one fatal mistake, he leaves his
dropships out, and Drefsab's wraiths down them.
Well, Drefsab has now about two
control groups of wraiths, and around eight battlecruisers with
science vessel support. Drefsab makes his way to Old~El~Paso's main and since Old~El~Paso's main force is
split into two groups, one on the island expansion, the main
falls quickly. Drefsab beats Old~El~Paso like a red-headed
stepchild. Good Games are exchanged and Drefsab emerges the
victor...

The Victor:
Drefsab
Well, in retrospect, Drefsab now
has the full amount of my worship, at least until Old~El~Paso beats him two
outta three.
Lessons Learned:
1. Goliaths are good, but not
against battlecruisers.
2. NEVER play a goliath-only
strategy on an island map.
3. These guys own.
4. I have to get some sleep.
5. This is a little chat piece i
picked up:

This was a
King_[LSRS-13]
production.
Notes:
The font i used in this was Copperplate Gothic Bold. I suggest
trying it out. I also used FrontPage editor for this and it meets
my standards. Please comment.
