You all were aware that I would have to do a BR on temple someday.

Introduction
Yes. This BR is on Temple, but wait, don't leave yet! This is not an ordinary temple matchup. How often do you get a game that is long, has back and forth action, and with nukes, all in one? It's a chance of a lifetime! So lean back in your seats, grab some popcorn, and without any further rambling by me, I present LuckyNewbie:P vs MrPimp.

3... 2... 1... Liftoff
Does anyone need a map of LT?LuckyNewbie:P floats his Yellow Terran down to the 12:00 position. His build order is Supply Depot - Barracks - Barracks - Supply Depot - Supply Depot - Engineering Bay - Refinery - Supply Depot - Factory - Academy.

VS

MrPimp warps in his Brown Protoss from the dusty blue fields of Shakuras to the 9:00 position. This Executor was plainly trained to be as annoying as possible, with his build order being Pylon - Gateway - Assimilator (At LuckyNewbie:P's geyser) - Assimilator - Pylon - Cybernetics Core - Gateway - Citadel of Adun - Templar Archives.

HomicidalProbe, who played in my last BR, and I observed the game.

I've heard of offensive cannons, but this?

The assimilator finishes warping in, and MrPimp gets a short look at LuckyNewbie:P's main, before newly-trained Marines raze the building.

Both players begin teching, with no battles to interrupt this. However, this peace was short lived. Doesn't it look like the Marine is electrocuting the Dark Templar? MrPimp has not been idle. No way, no how. Instead, he has warped in his Templar Archives, and obviously the preceding buildings. MrPimp brings two Dragoons to the choke of LuckyNewbie:P's natural, and also loads four of the shadowy Dark Templar into a Shuttle, directed to LuckyNewbie:P's main. During this, MrPimp takes his natural. The Dark Templar land, move around to LuckyNewbie:P's peon line, and manage to kill 3 SCVs and a Missile Turret, before being dispatched of by a well placed Tank and a few Marines.

Resting Period
Just like the name says, this is a period without battles. This doesn't mean that our two commanders are idle, though. MrPimp has retreated his 2 goon containment force, and shuttles two identical Dragoons to the cliff of his natural. Also, MrPimp takes the 6:00 main. LuckyNewbie:P takes his natural, and both sides start building up.

On With the Action!
The next splotch of action starts with com-sat ringing through the air. LuckyNewbie:P locates MrPimp's new expansion, and air-mails 12 Marines and 4 Medics, via Dropship, to the location mentioned before. The M+M unload, and raze the Nexus and Pylon. MrPimp orders a detachment of troops to engage the Terran threat. A battle rages, with LuckyNewbie:P using stim packs and Medics to engage the Dragoons and Zealots. But in the end, the Protoss troops win the skirmish. Well, sorta. It did take a while for MrPimp to kill the four Medics.

Lucky is really a sly little potato. Now the reason that I did not make a huge picture of the action above is because of what happens next. LuckyNewbie:P, being the sly little bastard he is, sends the rest of his army, consisting of around 18 Marines, 4 Medics, a Science Vessel, 2 Tanks, and a complimentary SCV, to attack MrPimp's natural. MrPimp must have had similar thoughts, as he sends 8 Dragoons to attack LuckyNewbie:P. Obviously, 26 > 8, so LuckyNewbie:P's force continues on its path of doom, after making goon soup out of the Protoss warriors.

The Tanks siege, the Marines load their Gauss Rifles, the Medics ready their healing... arm? and the Science Vessel... just sits there. As if from some unseen signal (probably LuckyNewbie:P ordering them to attack) the Terran troops open fire. Arclite shells melt the Dragoons. Suddenly, thunder is heard. Psionic Storms break out, destroying the infantry. The Tanks erupt in flame. The Science Vessel... just sits there. The end result of this battle was that both armies are decimated by Arclite fire and Psi Storm.

I said before that I didn't make a huge picture of the previous action because of this battle, so it stands to reason that I made a big picture for this battle, right? Well, here goes...

Just when you thought your modems were safe...

The Second Wave
LuckyNewbie:P is not pleased by losing his whole attack force by Psi Storm. Out of his six Barracks, he is able to rebuild rather quickly. MrPimp, wanting to get an advantage over LuckyNewbie:P, takes the 11:00 island expansion and retakes the 6:00 main.

How are SCVs so calm?Things are looking bad for LuckyNewbie:P. He just lost his entire attack force to two Psi Storms, and MrPimp has two... make that three more expansions than him. MrPimp just expanded to his mineral only. To add insult to injury, and to make LuckyNewbie:P hate Psi Storm more, MrPimp pulls the old Templar-in-the-peon-line trick, and storms the shit out of all of the SCVs at LuckyNewbie:P's natural.

It seems like LuckyNewbie:P's only hope lies within the army en route to MrPimp's natural. LuckyNewbie:P's meets the mineral-only and greets it hello and goodbye as EMP, Arclite Shells, and Gauss spikes bounce off the Nexus, somehow managing to make it explode.

The Terran juggernaut moves on to MrPimp's natural, but doesn't get far untill being greeted by waves and waves of Dragoons. Learning from past mistakes, LuckyNewbie:P slides 3 Marines to MrPimp's peon line, and assassinates the Templar stationed there. EMP Shockwave was cast on the Dragoons, halving the time the Tanks needed to melt them. Unfortunately for LuckyNewbie:P, the Dragoon's Phase Disruptor was not just good lighting effects, as he had hoped. These Phase Disruptors managed to pack a punch. Even then, it took quite a few waves to eliminate the Terran force.

This picture isn't as big as the other one, oh well.

More Multi-Tasking
It's a battle, and when there is a battle, there is multitasking. During this battle, LuckyNewbie:P drops 4 Vultures on MrPimp's island expansion. These four bikers skillfully meet their deaths by one Photon Cannon. I know that the Dragoon weapon is not a lighting effect, but what about the Vulture's?

Meanwhile, LuckyNewbie:P (finally?) sees fit to fly a Command Center over to the 3:00 main. Yes, that templar was there since the storm raid. Both sides decide almost simultaneously that their peon workers would make great warriors to get rid of the annoyances in their naturals. LuckyNewbie:P uses SCV~007 to clear the troublesome Templar, while 5 of MrPimp's Probes decapitate the Templar-killing Marines.
MrPimp manages to interrupt a transfer of LuckyNewbie:P's troops to his new expansion. Dragoons fire and Storm flies, once again slaughtering the Terran Infantry. The remaining Tanks and SCVs are not able to destroy the Dragoons, but Marines arrive, and are able to make the Dragoons retreat.

I glance at the Command Center of the expansion, and what do I see but a nuke silo. Nukes, the high of Terran technology, able to make almost any game fun to watch. MrPimp must have caught a glimpse of this as well, because soon a Protoss Task Force of Dragoons and Archons float up the ramp. The bunkers on the cliff deal with this, mainly because an EMPed Archon only has 10 hp.

Nukes
The flashing lights on the nuke silo suddenly stop flashing. We all know what that means, right?

Idle time!

You (hopefully) guessed it! Nukes. This one happens to be at MrPimp's 6:00 expansion. MrPimp locates the red dot, and manages to move all of his probes away except for two. One was in the Assimilator, so the only casualties of this nuke was one Probe. Coupled with my lame-ass picture of the nuke, I think that we can say that this nuke failed it's purpose.

Bow to my lame ss skils!

More Nukes
LuckyNewbie:P, shrugging at the loss of 200 minerals and 200 gas. orders his team of scientists to progress on another nuke. MrPimp orders a last ditch assault on LuckyNewbie:P's nuking expansion, but the Terran defense forces stand their ground. LuckyNewbie:P waits for his nuke to complete, and when it does, he sends his army in to eliminate the defenses MrPimp has set up at his natural, and brings his ghost in. This time MrPimp does not try to retreat his Probes, so multiple Probes and buildings get their lives cut short by this Terran weapon.

The Terran troops destroy MrPimp's natural, and proceed to systematically destroy MrPimp's main. Meanwhile, at MrPimp's 11:00 island expansion, LuckyNewbie:P drops eight ghosts, one of which is cloaked. Unfortunately for LuckyNewbie:P, he had used his nuke already, so his eight ghosts just take shots at the buildings, doing a combined damage of .002 per hour. After his forces eliminated MrPimp's main, the unstoppable army continues on, burning MrPimp's 6:00 expansion to the ground.

At this point the game is over, and both players know it. However, LuckyNewbie:P's nuke has finished, so he thinks that it would make a great finale to nuke MrPimp's island expansion. MrPimp doesn't like that idea, so he leaves while the nuke is launching, causing the 'Defeat' sign to come up. I take a screenshot of the nuke, and even though the defeat sign is in it, it turned out better than the others. Which isn't saying much.

The biggest and best.

Aftermath
A good game played, the scores were close, with the only diference being the buildings LuckyNewbie:P razed.

So maybe the scores were not close.

And of course, the animated minimap.

Cries for a rematch ring up, but none of them actually work. So here I end my one game battlereport, and my quest to do a BR on every single blizzard map continues. Hmm, maybe I will exempt BGH and Hunters from my quest...
