Thats right folks. After wiping the floor with prots and mengsk at Polaris, HQ came thru with the orders. Red Raiders mop up on Polaris and secure the facility. 12th Recon and Hoff's Hellraisers take the Jewled River. The Jewled River? Thats right. Saphires, Un cut Diamonds, Emerald's, Ruby's, and all the precious metals. Pretty to look at, but u cant build an scv with em. So why did the brass want that pretty little river? Politics my friend. You see the Jewled River use to be the home of anybody who was anybody. In the hey day of the Confederacy every Intergalactic movie star, and rock singer had a place on that river. Course when the zergies came Arcturus Mengsk ponied them up faster then crack head can suck his pipe. Guess he figured they didnt play into his "master plan". Well I recon the brass wanted that place to win some popular support back, and hey maybe we could even get a few movie stars to move back....the adult kind would suit the 12th just fine. We dropped in perfect, or as perfect as u could want it. Both in the north, the hellraisers were just east of me beyond the river. Problem was the zerg had as outnumbered. Not much into it Hoff comes blaring on the com, " Your jeporadizing the damn mission. "Standard procedure is to build a barracks first and u got a supply depot." I didn't get time to remind him that standard procedures aint working so well lately, before he got hit with a zergie rush. I don't know if those bugs overheard him, or they just got unlucky, but they came after me next, and by this time I already had three barracks out and I was working on an academy. Bad news zergies....bad news....waves and waves of first zerglings then Hydras. Cut down. Now come the problem with my build out. Im so ahead at this point Im going thru my crystal fields like a firebat thru a 2 X 4. Time to take an expansion...I got three south of me, 5, 7 and 8. The one at 7 is closest but 5 aint much further and its on higher ground. I go for it, but the zerg dont like it, and when they dont like something that hive mind thinks triple team. I lock and load and do it all again, but dammit I forgot to hotkey comstat and by the time I get one off its too damn late. Well its this point im just about out of crystals and I get a message from Hoff that his expansion has about a 0% chance of surviving the next zerg wave...and that was being generous. Well i figure this is my chance, with the bugs tied up over there i take the site no contesto, but the bugs are devious and want to punish hoff for my success. He is taking heavy fire at this base, but still has some deposits left. We decide that the base at 7 is our best bet. My boys about 18 marines and 8 meds come up on it and start tearing zergies to shreds. Well he sees hoffs CC flying in and here they come. Now hoff comes on and is blarring, " if i dont get a site soon im gonna have a headache". Thats what are drugs are for. "thats the good stuff" and 12 more of my boys show up to replenish the ranks. Well the zerg sees hoff's base trying to land. Problem is that damn green gunk is in his way. Gotta solve that right. My boys move in for the final blow and holy zergs battman they bring everything but the kitchen. Thats when we hear over the com. "DON DON DON DON..DON DON DON DAH...DON DON DON DAH ...DON DAH DAH!" Thunder claps go off everywhere and the boys left out a chear as they know aint no zerg capable of getting past that arclite cannon. Couple of more tanks park on the river and start shellin the poor zergie on the other side. Well it dont take Hoff's Hellraisers long to want payback and we go over there and smoke one more zerg site. Still he has got one in the middle and I send in Four drops ships, they are taking zerg anti air from two sides but three of em got full load a tanks and within 60 seconds the entire base is wasted. Now that is what i call a hostile drop!" well that was the back breaker, and anyway at this point Hoff has gone globothermonuclear on his tired zerg ass. Not much long after that the boys started scavenging that river for any movie star style salvage and collectibles...They earned it.
