Knowing that his opponent was Terrans, Ahscar chose to early expand before spawning pool and place his 3rd hatch at the top of his ramp and sunken up his choke, while OEP went with the traditional double rax then academy build. There were no actions in the game for a while and both sides were teching: Ahscar went for hive while pumping hydras and expanded again at his mineral expansion; OEP started producing tanks and wraiths. Ahscar had kept his 24 hydras in two wings: one at his mineral expansion, and another below his ramp. When OEP scanned and found Ahscar’s little force of about 10 hydras at ramp and decided to attack with 12 marines 4 medics 2 tanks. At the same time, OEP attempted to expand at his natural and mineral expansion simultaneously. | |
4 hydras were met by the terran force in the middle of the map, and strangely this small force killed a tank since the marines were not protecting them. OEP realized his error and immediately place his infantry beside the remaining tank that was firing the powerful Mjolnir Artillery Cannons at the morphing hatchery at Ahscar’s another mineral expansion. Ahscar immediately deployed his anti-tank push strategy by sending 16 hydralisks from the left to lure marines to move away from the tanks, and charging another 12 hydras from the right and kill the tank first. The tank without much support died fast, and the two groups of hydras mobbed up and eliminated the remaining infantry from both sides since the marines felt dizzy turn their heads left and right constantly. The terran attack was repelled with little loss of zerg blood.
Very soon afterwards Ahscar ordered a counter-attack, only to face 2 undefended CC. Ahscar infested one and destroyed another, then broodling the defending tanks and charged in the superior hydralisk army. The terran force could not hold their ground against the mighty swarm of the zerg and fell quickly. Another attempt to rebuild at the 3 o’clock position was soon discovered, and very soon a horde of angry hydralisks came raging in and spitted all of their green juice at the remaining structures.

Old~El~Paso vs. Ahscar

OEP wanted his revenge on the next game, and the map was chosen to be Dire Straits. Ahscar selected Zerg under the request of OEP, and OEP chose Protoss then switched to Terrans at the last moment, hoping to tick off his opponent. Ahscar this time morphed his hatchery at the top left position while OEP landed his command center at the opposite side of bottom right.
Ahscar went for pool/lair followed by anther hatchery and OEP constructed 2 rax/academy/factory/2 starports while amassing marines. Instead of a muta rush as the build seemed, Ahscar built a hydra den and a queen nest for Hive while expanding to the top right position. A nydus canal linked the 2 base and a number of drones were transferred for an immediate working expansion.

OEP was not idle at this point, when he loaded two dropships of pure marines and headed for Ahscar’s main. However, facing a defending lurker and about 8 hydralisks, the 16 marines were slaughtered without inflicting much damage. OEP constructed 2 CC on the edge of his island attempting to expand at once. Ahscar also expand at the bottom left starting position.

Ahscar spotted OEP’s expansion with a scouting overlord. Sure enough, 4 loads of hydras were dropped before any proper defense was set up, and the expansion was destroyed quickly. When Ahscar’s greater spire was finished, he hid it with a bunch of overlords, trying to keep OEP’s mind away from guardians.
|
OEP’s expansion was finally fortified with 2 bunkers and several turrets, but Ahscar’s guardians were ready and assaulted OEP’s main from the left, while dropping a huge number of hydralisks from the top. The defending tanks were broodling’ed and the hydras spitted as hard as they could with their upgraded missile attack. To avoid loss, Ahscar cleverly covered the bunker with overlords, attracting bunker fire and blinding their sight to the attacking hydras. The defense was broken rather quickly, and OEP’s main fell. The CC was infested again, and began to float to the other expansion had OEP had fortified.
A frightening number of mutalisks and guardians came to annihilate the remaining terran base and even 2 bunkers and turrets cannot withstand the huge horde of these bat and crab-looking flyers. All the defenses were demolished, and the infested CC finally landed and an infested terran finished OEP last building.
