GaLo Vs. JimTheGreen on Lost Temple
GaLo
VS.
JimTheGreen
On Lost Temple.
So, here we have a 1v1. It's... short. Less than 20 minutes. But it is full of TvP goodness! And I keep dying! Anyhow, it went like this.
I was looking around in public games on U.S. East with my handle JimTheGreen, searching for a good 2v2. I wandered into a game called '2v2@Temple!!', and there was just one guy sitting there, a guy named GaLo. After exchanging 'hi's, we waited a while, and nobody came. So we agreed to a 1v1.
GaLo went random, and drew teal protoss, and JimTheGreen went purple terran. He landed on the 3 o'clock spot, while I got the 9 o'clock. JimTheGreen started with a 9/10 barracks, then a supply depot, then a second barracks, still at 9/10, then 9/18. GaLo started a pylon at 8/9, and then scouted 12, then JimTheGreen at 9, in quick succesion, while building 2 gateways at home. JimTheGreen built a bunker and four marines, while GaLo started pumping zealots.
First Blood!
Mmm, dramatic text... Now, as soon as GaLo had his first zealot trained, he immedietly sent it over to JimTheGreen's base. This (slightly insane, from what its saying in the picture) zealot ran quickly over to JimTheGreen's supply line, and started attacking the workers there! I shall say no more, but let pictures talk...
With the insane zealot's threat over, JimTheGreen built a second bunker. At the teal Home of the Toss (Mmm... capital letters...), a cybernetics core is warping in. While the purple terrans hastily construct an academy and train another 4 marines, upgrading their range, GaLo starts the mighty warping of a Citadel of Adun! (Mmm... more capital letters...) JimTheGreen then builds another supply depot, and is then attacked by three zealots and an almighty DRAGOON! Mwahahahahahahahahah! (While the attack is going on, GaLo expands to the 12 o'clock main.)
The dragoon and one of the zealots is slaughtered by the combined force of eight marines, who somehow find themselves stuck behind the minerals. The remaining zealots mercilessly kill the marines, leaving JimTheGreen with an undefended base. Deciding that 16 SCVs couldn't kill two zealots, JimTheGreen lifts his Command Center (Mmm... even more capital letters...) and his two barrackses (or is it two barracks? Hmm...) and floats them into the middle of the map to throw off any trackers, and then down to the 6 o'clock base.
GaLo throws up a Templar Archives (I'm really annoying you by saying "Mmm... capital letters..." over and over, aren't I?), and JimTheGreen builds nine marines and a medic, using 25 of his precious 40 vespene gas and the academy and three supply depots GaLo forgot to raze.
GaLo sends three zealots to 9 o'clock, thinking that JimTheGreen will have landed there again. He, however, is wrong, and takes his frustration out on the two bunkers there, leaving JimTheGreen's supply and tech buildings there. JimTheGreen quickly replaces them at 6 o'clock, also adding a factory and machine shop. He continued to pump marines, medics, and started building a few tanks, while researching siege mode. But then GaLo starts building mass dragoons and dark templar... Dun dun dun!
Dark Templar Power!
You see, GaLo had been scouting for JimTheGreen's hidden base. Three zealots had earlier ran into the mass of marines and medics in front of JimTheGreen's base, and they died so quickly that he didn't notice them. He continued under the belief that he was hidden from GaLo's view. But he wasn't. Now under attack by many, many, many dragoons, and also many, many, many dark templar, he futilely lifted of his liftable buildings, and tried to fly them away to the island in the top left. Did I mention futilely? Even sacrificing a barracks to try and buy him time didn't work, so it was very futile.
The End of JimTheGreen!
And there you have it, the grand story of my total and utter destruction. The handcuffs attached to your seat will now disengage. Please take a complimentry soda on your way out. And have a good day. Oh, and the replay is here.
